CIS Courtyard Scope of Work
Existing to Remain:
 The concrete pads (2) outside each set of double doors shall remain.
 The existing drains shall remain.
 The existing water spigot shall remain.
Demolition:
 Two existing planters must be removed. We will save any landscape bricks that
are in good condition and possibly use them later for landscaping in the
courtyard.
 The existing concrete pad (approximately 30’x10’) must be removed and hauled
away.
 The existing sod throughout the courtyard must be removed and hauled away.
Construction:
 Concrete (w/sand base)
o A 4” thick, 24’ diameter pad must be formed and placed in the middle of
the concrete as the pad for the “C”-shaped risers.
o A 4” thick, 4’ wide curved sidewalk must be placed the length of the
courtyard between the two existing concrete pads at each set of doors.
o A 6’x8’, 4” thick concrete pad shall be placed at the location of the
proposed shed.
o “C”-shaped risers with an exterior diameter of 20’ shall be formed and
placed at the center of the courtyard per the plan and section cut. It shall
consist of an outer “C” (24” wide x 24” high) and an inner “C” (24” wide x
12” high).
 Mulch shall be placed in the Learning Area, at the location of tables. Mulch shall
be 4” deep and placed over landscaping fabric extending across the entire width
of the courtyard over a 30’ length of the courtyard. A plastic edging shall be
used as a divider between the mulch and sod areas.
 Sod shall be placed throughout the courtyard, except where concrete, mulch,
and rock are to be placed.
 Small rock 4” deep shall be placed under and around the science gardens. A
plastic edging shall be used as a divider between the rock and sod areas.
 A 6’x8’ shed shall be constructed to house a lawnmower, umbrellas, school
supplies, and gardening equipment.
 Science gardens to be constructed by Boy Scout Troop #163.
Additional Work:

A key pad to match existing pads in the school shall be placed inside each set of
double doors to allow staff access to the area.
