Central Savings Bank Hosts Meeting with
Congressman Benishek
SAULT STE. MARIE, Michigan. May 11, 2015 – Congressman Dan Benishek, who represents
Michigan’s 1st District, met with Central Savings Bank Officers to discuss their issues and
concerns involving community banks.
Those in attendance from Central Savings Bank were Ronald L. Meister – President and CEO,
Mark Savoie – Executive Vice President, John Allison - Vice President, Rob Landis – Senior
Vice President and Paul Brewster – Vice Chairman of the Central Savings Bank Board of
Directors.
Some of the issues and concerns discussed included the new mortgage regulations placed on
community banks, USDA guaranties, and the apparent disconnect between State and Federal
regulations. Another topic discussed was the recent national retail chains that have encountered
credit card breaches and how it affects community banks and their customers.
“We are grateful Congressman Benishek took the time to meet with us and hear our concerns,”
said Ron Meister.” “Communicating with our legislative representatives is another way we can
improve the safety and security measures for our customers.”
Central Savings Bank hosted a similar meeting with Senator Wayne Schmidt in late April.
Congressman Benishek said he plans to bring the information learned from the meeting back to
Washington with him.
