TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY FOR METRO RADIO & CASH FOR KIDS ‘BIG AUDITION’ 2015 (the
“Competition”)
These terms and conditions should be read together with and are in addition to the Promoter’s (as defined below)
general competition terms and conditions available online at www.metroradio.co.uk/terms-and-conditions and the
fundraising terms and conditions available at [http://cfk.bauerweb.co.uk/metro/2015/bigaudition/fundraisingtcs-2015.pdf] (together the “Rules”).
By entering the Competition, applicants agree to be bound by these Rules.
This Competition is promoted by Bauer Radio Limited t/a METRO RADIO (the “Promoter”) whose registered
office is at 1 Lincoln Court, Lincoln Road, Peterborough, PE1 2FR and registered under company number
01394141 and its affiliated charity, Bauer Radio’s Cash for Kids Charities (the “Charity”) registered under charity
number 1122062. The Rules are available on request from the Promoter and may be downloaded from its
website at www.metroradio.co.uk (the “Website”).
The Competition is open to UK residents aged 16 and over (if entrants are under 18, they must have permission
from a parent or legal guardian to enter), but excludes employees of the Promoter, and its associated companies,
their immediate families and anyone else professionally connected with the Competition. Previous fundraisers for
the Charity are eligible to enter the Competition.
Entries which are not in accordance with the Rules will not be valid and the Promoter reserves the right in its sole
discretion, to disqualify such entries at any time during the Competition. Applicants found to be breaking the
Rules will be disqualified.
1.
HOW TO ENTER

1.1 The Competition is open on Monday 23 March 2015 and the closing date for receipt of entries is 10am on

Tuesday 7 April 2015 (the “Closing Date”). Any entries made outside of this period will not be eligible.
1.2 Applicants can either be a group or an individual artist (the “Applicants”). To enter, Applicants should submit
a video or sound track online at www.Metro Radioradio.com.
1.3 Only one entry will be accepted per Applicant. Audition videos will not be returned to Applicants.
1.4 To be eligible, Applicants (or any member of the group if the Applicant is a group) submitting a video must not
be signed to a major label or subsidiary of a major label. Applicants signed with independent labels are eligible.
1.5 Applicants must complete the registration form and it is their responsibility to ensure that the information
entered is correct and accurate. Incomplete registrations will not be accepted and the Promoter shall not be
responsible for any information which has not been entered correctly.
1.6 Persons (whether a group or individual) may not enter if they have a current recording deal in place with a
major label or a subsidiary of a major label. Small independent, bedroom labels, DIY labels and self-released
artists are all eligible for entry.
1.7 Entries with multiple tracks will not be accepted.
1.8 Entrants are responsible for and must have secured prior to submitting their entry, permission from copyright
owners of the Track to both record the Track and to use it to enter this Competition as set out in these Rules. If
the Promoter receives a claim requesting payment by the copyright owner for an Applicant’s use of a Track as
part of this Competition, the Applicant shall reimburse the Promoter for such payments and any costs incurred by
the Promoter in handling such claim.
2. SELECTION
2.1 All applications received in accordance with clause 1 (above) will be assessed by the Big Audition judging
panel. The Panel is subject to change at any time without prior notification to Applicants.
2.2 The Panel will choose up to 20 Applicants (“the Shortlisted Applicants”) who they deem have the most
talent. The Panel’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.

2.3 The Shortlisted Applicants must attend a semi-final interview on Thursday 9 April 2015 at specified times
(which will be confirmed to the Shortlisted Applicants when they are notified that they have been chosen) at
Newcastle College. The Promoter will not reimburse the Shortlisted Applicants for the cost of any travel,
accommodation or out of pocket expenses. The Shortlisted Applicants will have an informal interview with the
Panel.
2.4 The Panel will choose up to 15 of the Shortlisted Applicants who they deem performed best on the day (the

“Finalists”) who will perform at the final event, to be held on Thursday 30 April at Newcastle College (the
“Final”). The Panel’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard. The Finalists
consent to publication of their names and photographs on the Website and agree for copies of the same
(“Copies”) to be used and stored by the Promoter, in any medium, for exploitation in any and all media for
promotional purposes.
2.5 The Finalists may be asked to take part in publicity for the Final and warrant that whilst they are participating
in any publicity they will not say anything or behave in any way which could be considered inappropriate or
offensive, which might cause harm to the Promoter or to the reputation of the Promoter’s group of companies, or
which might otherwise bring the Promoter or the Promoter’s group of companies into disrepute.
3. FUNDRAISING
3.1 The Finalists will each be allocated the same number of tickets to the Final and must sell all tickets, the

proceeds of which will be paid to the Charity. The Finalists will have from Friday 10 April to midday on

Wednesday 29 April 2015 to sell their ticket allocation. Tickets will be priced at £8.00 each all of which will go to
the Charity.
3.2 In addition to selling their ticket allocation, Finalists must also engage in alternative fundraising initiatives to

raise as much money as they can (between Friday 10 April to midday on Wednesday 29 April 2015) for the
Charity, including but not limited to, selling more tickets to the Final, in excess of their ticket allocation (subject to
availability).
3.3 In all fundraising efforts, Finalists must agree to abide by the Promoter’s fundraising terms and conditions
which also form part of these Rules. Failure to abide by the Promoter’s fundraising terms and conditions may
result in a Finalist being disqualified.
4. THE FINAL
4.1 All Finalists will be invited to take part in the Final. The Promoter reserves the right to change the date and
venue of the Final if it is reasonably required to do so for reasons beyond its control, at any time and will not be
liable or responsible if Finalists are not able to attend the Final because or for any losses incurred if the Final is
cancelled.
4.2 The Finalists are responsible for making sure that they are able to attend the Final, which may entail taking
time off work. The Promoter will not be responsible for any financial or other consequences of the individual
applicant’s failure to adequately arrange taking time off work to take part in the Final.
4.3 If a Finalist cannot attend the Final, the Promoter will be under no obligation to provide an alternative prize
(including but not limited to a cash alternative). If a Finalist (or a member of a Finalist if the Finalist is a group) is
unable to attend the Final, the Promoter reserves the right to replace that Finalist with one of the Shortlisted
Applicants, to be chosen by the Promoter, at its sole discretion.
4.4 Finalists must perform one song at the Final.
4.5 Finalists who fail to abide by these Rules or other reasonable requests of the Promoter in relation to the
Competition may be disqualified from the Competition and unable to perform at the Final. In the event that a
Finalist is disqualified from the Competition, the Promoter may choose, at its sole discretion, one of the
Shortlisted Applicants to replace the disqualified Finalist.
5. THE WINNER
5.1 The winner of the Competition will be the Finalist that has raised the most money for the Charity and has
performed the best at the Final in the Panel’s opinion but will be determined by the point-scoring system
described below. A point-scoring system will be used to rate the Finalists. The Finalist who raises the most
money will be awarded up to 15 points, the Finalist who raises the second largest amount of money will be
awarded up to 14 points and so on. The Finalist who raises the least money will be awarded 1 point. The Finalists
will also be judged on their performance in the Final, with up to 15 points being awarded for the best
performance, up to 14 points being awarded for the second best performance and so on down to 1 point being
awarded for the worst performance. The Finalists’ performances in the Final will be judged by the Panel. The
Panel’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard. The Finalists will each
have two scores which will be added together to give them a grand total (the “Total”).
5.2 The winner will be the Finalist who has the biggest Total. The Winner will be announced live at the Final. The
Panel’s decision as to the Winner will be final and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
5.3 In the event that two or more Finalists have the same Total, the winner will be chosen based on which Finalist
has the highest score from their performance in the Final.
6. THE PRIZE

6.1 The Winner will win a performance slot at Metro Radio Live on Monday 7 December 2015 at the Metro
Radio Arena.
6.2 The Promoter reserves the right to award alternative prizes of equal or greater value, should a particular
element of the Prize become unavailable for any reason.
6.3 All elements making up the Prize are subject to availability and are non-transferable, non-refundable and
there are no cash alternatives. If the Winner declines an element of the Prize, that element will be deemed to be
forfeited by the Winner and will not be refunded nor will cash be awarded in lieu of such element.
6.4 The winner will have a maximum of 2 tracks (tic) to perform (one of which will be their entry Track) live at the
Metro Radio Arena as part of the Prize. The second track must be a track from METRO RADIO’s play list and
must not be one which is also being performed by one of the celebrity artists on the same night. The Promoter
will keep you informed of tracks that can’t be used on the night.
6.5 The Winner (to be chosen by the Panel, with the Panel’s decision being final, from the remaining Finalists)
must be available to perform at METRO RADIO and Cash for Kids events throughout the year.
7. OTHER CONDITIONS
7.1 The Promoter is not responsible for any:
(a) Telephone, computer, hardware, software, programming or network malfunction or error which prevents
Applicants from submitting their entry properly;
(b) Communication disruption or other forces beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including disruption
related to internet traffic, virus, bug, or non-authorised intervention; or
(c) Damage caused by a computer virus or otherwise arising in any computer as a result of an Applicant’s access
to the Website.
If such malfunction, error, disruption, or damage occurs, impairs the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or
proper participation in the Competition, the Promoter may, in its sole discretion, suspend or terminate the
Competition by posting a notice on the Website without any liability to Applicants. Entries made through any
robotic, automatic, mechanical, programmed or similar entry duplication method are void. Entries will be deemed
made by the authorised account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The authorised
account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the e-mail address by an internet access provider, on-line
service provider, or other organisation that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain
associated with the e-mail address.
7.2 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, amend, terminate or temporarily suspend this Competition in the
event of any unforeseen circumstances outside its reasonable control, with no liability to any Applicants or third
parties.
7.3 Only entries received in accordance with these Rules will be accepted.
7.4 The Promoter is not responsible for late delivery or unsatisfactory quality of the Prize and will not be liable if
the Prize cannot be taken up by the Winner.
7.5 The Promoter is not responsible for any costs associated with entering this Competition (or enjoyment of the
Prize or any aspect of it) including but without limitation, travel costs or costs associated with accessing the
internet.
7.6 Other than for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence and so far as permitted by law, the
Promoter hereby excludes all liability for any loss, damage, cost and expense, whether direct or indirect,
howsoever caused in connection with the Competition or any element of the Prize.
7.7 This Competition and the Rules are governed by English Law and the courts of England shall have exclusive
jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Competition or the Rules.
7.8 Complaints about this Competition may be made in writing (including via email) to
[email protected] or in writing to Stephanie Simpson, Cash for Kids, 55 Degrees North,
Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6BL. A complaint will not be considered if it is made more than 14 days
after the date the Winner is announced.
