The Cunningham Fire Protection District, located in Arapahoe County, provides fire and Emergency Medical Services to portions of unincorporated Arapahoe County and portions of the City of Centennial. General Position Overview This is a sworn/uniformed position assigned to Fire Suppression. Provides advanced medical care and transport of the sick and injured. Performs all technical functions related to fire protection, fire suppression and emergency medical services under both emergency and non-emergency situations. The Firefighter with Paramedic Differential must function as a member of a team, follow the orders and direction of all superior officers, and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, crew members, members of other crews, divisions, cooperating agencies, and the public. Additional responsibilities in the areas of leadership and mentorship may be assigned. A Firefighter with Paramedic Differential must occasionally function without direct supervision. While functioning under the direction of the Fire Suppression Lieutenant, Firefighter with Paramedic Differential has minor supervisory responsibilities. Functions as team leader while assigned to a medic unit; requires coordination of the activities of an independently functioning unit and the personnel assigned to the unit. Successful candidates must be able to work independently, with limited supervision, in a production-oriented position. Successful candidates must possess customer service skills with the ability to work with others and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing while demonstrating a professional demeanor and attitude. Successful candidates must have experience using a computer with specific knowledge of database and word processing systems. Minimum Qualifications  21 years of age or older  High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)  Valid Colorado driver’s license with good driving history and be insurable by the District’s insurer  Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a paid Firefighter/Paramedic with a career fire department providing care in accordance with the Denver Metro Protocols  Current Colorado Department of Health Paramedic Certification  Current Colorado Division of Fire Safety-Firefighter II, Hazardous Material Operations, and Driver Operator Certifications  Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Provider Certification Salary and Benefits Annual Salary range is $65,156 to $77,927 depending upon qualifications and experience.
