FIREFIGHTER APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Carefully review the minimum requirements on the following page. All requirements must be met by
the specified deadline date(s). Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements will not be
allowed to continue in the testing process.
2. Visit Recruitment.iosolutions.org to complete the online application for the position of Firefighter. THE
DEADLINE FOR THE ONLINE APPLICATION IS APRIL 27, 2015 at 4:00 PM. When you have finished the
application, you will receive a CONFIRMATION NUMBER. Save this number for your records.
3. Applicants may mail/ship or hand deliver application, release form and required documents:

4. Application and required documents must be received by IOS Recruitment no later than 4:00 PM on
MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2015. Documents delivered after the application deadline will not be accepted.

ORIENTATION AND TESTING INFORMATION:
Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation and written examination on SATURDAY, MAY 16,
2015. Sign-in will be held from 8:15AM – 9:00AM. There will be no late admittance. Please arrive with a
photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, military ID) to sign-in. Test will be held at:

All portions of the testing process are mandatory. Failure to attend and successfully complete any portion of the process will
result in elimination from employment consideration.

U.S. Citizen
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Valid Driver’s License
Must be at least 21 to under 35 years of age at time of application deadline (4/27/15), unless otherwise exempt by
statute
Must have an Illinois Basic Operations/Firefighter II Certificate issued by the Office of the State Fire Marshal
Must have licensed in Illinois as EMT-Basic
Must have a valid and current Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Paramedic License at time of conditional offer
Valid CPAT and Ladder Climb dated no more than one (1) year PRIOR to application deadline (valid if dated 4/27/144/27/15). Valid CPAT and Ladder Climb also required at time of conditional offer.
Completion and submission of online application and all required documents by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015.
Salary Information:
Firefighter starting salary for 5/1/2015: $61,948
