Student of the Week Deanie Schaller Chippewa Falls High School A native of Chippewa Falls, Deanie Schaller is the Chi-Hi Student of the Week. Her parents are John and Tonia Schaller. Deanie has an older sister, Evie, and a younger sister, Gillian. The family has three pet dogs, Daisy, Penelope and Gus and a cat named Johnny Rascal. Her grandparents are Ken and Joan Schaller and the late Dick and Deanie Steinmetz, all of Chippewa Falls. She attended Hillcrest Elementary School, Chippewa Falls Middle School and is a senior at Chippewa Falls High School. Deanie is a Living Leadership student instructor and volunteered to help at “Light the Night” the Irvine Park holiday display of lights. She also volunteers as a student instructor for both the high school youth volleyball and softball clinics. She is a role model for other students in both volleyball and softball. Deanie is both a four year participant and four year letter winner on the high school volleyball and softball teams. She was selected to the All-Conference first team this year in volleyball as well as the County Volleyball Player of the Year for both her junior and senior years. She played on the State Champion Softball team her freshman year and was first team All-Conference and second team All-State her junior year. In her spare time, Deanie plays for the Chippewa Valley “Flash” Travel softball team, the Hallie Parks & Rec softball team and “Team Edge” North Country Region volleyball team. She enjoys family activities and sitting around a fire pit with her friends, relaxing. Deanie watches both romance and comedy movies, her favorite is No Strings Attached. Modern Family and Keeping Up with the Kardashians are her favorite television shows. She works at the Bernard Willi Swimming Pool each summer. After graduation, Deanie plans to attend UWEC and major in education. She may try out for the UWEC volleyball team, but has not yet decided for sure. We are proud of Cardinal Deanie Schaller!
