APPLICATION FOR ACCREDITATION CATEGORY A
Accreditation to work in Catholic Education
All employees in a Catholic School will be committed to the ethos of Catholic Education,
and generously work to support the mission of the Catholic School (Catholic Schools At A
Crossroads p 16).
In order to be accredited to work in a Catholic School or Catholic Early Learning Centre in
the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn, all staff, both part-time and full-time, who
have direct and immediate contact with students, parents and teaching staff participate in
a one-day Orientation Program.
RE Category A Accreditation: “Faith, Story, Witness”
RE Category A Accreditation will acquaint all staff with the Vision and Mission of Catholic
Education within the context of the evangelising and catechising mission of the Catholic
Church, and as an introduction to what it means to be employed in a Catholic workplace.
This course will be facilitated by the CEO Religious Education Team and will be conducted
over one day, usually in a stand-down period. The requirement is that this course be
completed within the first two years of employment in the Archdiocese.
