Nipissing University's Watershed Analysis Center (WAC) (http://wac.nipissingu.ca) is seeking a highly motivated
individual for Masters-level research to explore the links between water quality and hydrology in a mixed landuse
(urban, agriculture) watershed. The candidate will be enrolled in Nipissing’s interdisciplinary Masters of
Environmental Studies /Masters of Environmental Sciences (http://www.nipissingu.ca/academics/graduatestudies/master-of-environmental). She/he will work directly with faculty in the Department of Geography (Drs. April
James and Dan Walters) and in collaboration with the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority and Dr. Merrin
Macrae, University of Waterloo. Specific focus will include investigation of sources of phosphorus to streamflow
and Lake Nipissing, a regionally important water resource. Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in
geography, earth sciences, environmental sciences, engineering or a related discipline, preferably with some
hydrology, field and GIS training and have an interest in watershed hydrology, water quality and field work.
