Chainsaw Sculpture is a growing art form in Manitoba but there is no event between British Columbia and Southern

Staging:
We will be setting up all carving activities behind fencing and protecting the public with additional safety netting. All
carvers will be required to wear appropriate safety gear and follow safe procedures outlined in their registration
information and agreement. Safe work procedures will be strictly enforced and a safety officer has been designated to
promote safety of participants and visitors.
Marketing:
Travel Manitoba has agreed to list the event in their calendar and also feature it on their website as a new “what’s hot” .
We will also contact all Manitoba carving clubs and post advertising in key locations. We will approach publications for
community announcements.
We hope to do some fundraising to offset start-up costs, possibly a raffle for a carving. Ear protection will be offered to
the public for a small fee.
We would like to request that The Lockport Community Marketing Corporation support this event by arranging for the
required liability coverage. Our efforts for marketing will be limited by costs. The Lockport community Marketing
Corporation may promote the event as they see fit as well.
Yours sincerely,
Agassiz Chainsaw Sculptors event organizing committee
