Positions and Descriptions

Change Agents (Tempe):
Educate and inspire students to get involved in community service, service learning, national service,
entrepreneurship and high impact careers. Change agents play a significant role in facilitating the use of
the Tempe Changemaker space as community for like-minded students to gather, access resources, and
plan/attend events. Change Agents answer inquiries regarding community service, service learning,
national service, entrepreneurship and high impact careers both in-person and on the phone; schedule
meeting room space in Changemaker Central; and interact in a professional manner with students,
parents, departments, and other community entities or individuals in need of information and
resources.
Hourly Position $9/hour/10-15 hours per week (average)

Director: The director will serve as a representative of Changemaker Central for events, committees,
and other university initiatives. The director will advance both the mission and the vision of
Changemaker Central to key stakeholders (including students and community members), cultivate
partnerships of impact, facilitate internal meetings, and maintain communication with all members of
Changemaker Central. The director will also support the student leadership team in developing new
initiatives and maintain regular communication with staff support. In addition, the director will have the
special project of crafting fall lecture, as the director will both oversee and manage all aspects of the
event, including outreach efforts, the speaker selection, and the coordination of strategic partnerships.
In doing so, the director will unite student/community organizations with intention to create a
meaningful coalition to advance the pursuit of social change. Finally, the director will serve as a support
system for, not only the team, but also for the vice director, as both changemakers will work to
strengthen their own partnership, while propelling the larger Changemaker initiative forward.
Stipend position: $3,000 per year/15 hours per week (average)

Vice Director: Along with the director, the vice director will serve as a representative of Changemaker
Central for events, committees, and other university initiatives. The vice director will promote the
student-led nature of Changemaker Central by coordinating both professional development and service
opportunities for the student leadership team, facilitating workshops, maintaining records, and
managing student leadership team expectations. The vice director will serve as a point of contact for
presentation requests and coordinate student leadership presence at events. Finally, the vice director’s
primary objective is to serve as a support system for, not only the team, but also for the director, as
both changemakers will work to strengthen their own partnership, while propelling the larger
Changemaker initiative forward.
Stipend position: $2,500 per year/12-13 hours per week (average)

Student Leadership Team – Chair Positions
Note: There is a single application for Changemaker Central Chair Positions. You may be considered
for multiple positions through one application but please note in your cover letter which position(s)
you are interested in.
Service Team – Woodside chair: The service chair will work with the location-specific programming
chairs to coordinate events and opportunities for students to become more involved with direct service,
service-learning, and potential opportunities in-field with high-impact career members. The chair will
both maintain and create partnerships to organize further opportunities for students through nonprofit
organizations, university departments, and other institutions. The Woodside chair will both oversee and
manage all aspects of Project Woodside, including outreach efforts, application review, trainings,
workshops, support of teams, and the formation of a grant committee. In addition, the chair will support
monthly service events, the end-of-the-year service recognition event, and the program of the service
co-chair.

Service Team – Devils in Disguise Chair: The service chair will work with the location-specific
programming chairs to coordinate events and opportunities for students to become more involved with
direct service, service-learning, and potential opportunities in-field with high-impact career members.
The chair will both maintain and create partnerships to organize further opportunities for students
through nonprofit organizations, university departments, and other institutions. The Devils in Disguise
chair will both oversee and manage all aspects of D.I.D., including outreach efforts, meetings,
workshops, support of teams, the formation of a committee, and the cultivation of relationships both
with agency partners across the valley and with student organizations across all four locations. In
addition, the chair will support monthly service events, the end-of-the-year service recognition event,
and the program of the service co-chair.

Entrepreneurship Team – Innovation Chair: The innovation chair will work to support both the
execution and the advancement of Changemaker Challenge, final hours, and Startup Summit. The chair
will assist in both the marketing and the promotion of the aforementioned events in addition to
supporting programming that is related to entrepreneurship and innovation, including but not limited to
Pitch Day, Innovation Challenge, and the award ceremony. The innovation chair will both maintain and
create partnerships to organize further opportunities for students through community
organizations/firms, university departments, and other institutions. Finally, the chair will support the
programming of the entrepreneurship co-chair.

Entrepreneurship Team – Solutions Chair: The solutions chair will work to build a community of solvers
by crafting programming (e.g., ideation workshops) that promotes ideation, dialogue, connection, and
action. The chair will work to support both the execution and the advancement of Solutions Summit and
other programming that acts as a launchpad for tangible change. The chair will assist in both the
marketing and the promotion of the aforementioned events in addition to supporting programming that
is related to entrepreneurship and innovation, including but not limited to Pitch Day and Innovation
Challenge. The solutions chair will both maintain and create partnerships to organize further
opportunities for students through community organizations/firms, university departments, and other
institutions. Finally, the chair will support the programming of the entrepreneurship co-chair.

Storytelling Chair: The storytelling chair will work to develop a community of changemakers who will
learn to utilize storytelling as a mechanism to affect social change both of meaning and of impact
through programming. The chair will both oversee and manage all aspects of Ignite@ASU, including
outreach efforts, application review, trainings, workshops, the formation of a committee, and the
support/development of storytellers through the crafting of programs. In addition, the chair will both
maintain and cultivate strategic partnerships that align with Changemaker’s/the chair’s vision for
creating social change through community development, artistic expression, and the spoken word.

PR/Marketing Chair: The PR/marketing chair will both plan and implement marketing strategies for
Changemaker Central and related programming, including the design and the distribution process of
collateral. Additionally, the chair will work with EOSS representatives and student leaders of
Changemaker to craft appropriate/effective messaging. The chair will also work to support the efforts of
the social media chair, collaborating often on projects.

Social Media Chair: The social media chair will work with the remainder of the student leadership team
members to promote their respective programming across a myriad of social media platforms.
Additionally, the chair will work with EOSS representatives, the PR/marketing chair, and other student
leaders of Changemaker to craft appropriate/effective messaging. The chair will also work to support
the efforts of the PR/marketing chair, collaborating often on projects.

Programming Chair (location-specific): Programming chairs will coordinate events both within and
outside of Changemaker Central in order to drive student involvement on their respective campus. They
will be tasked with the execution of internal events, and work to host co-sponsored events with
individual students, student clubs, nonprofit organizations, and university departments. They will
regularly work with the PR/marketing chair, the social media chair, and other location-specific
programming chairs both to promote upcoming events and to facilitate the logistics of cross-campus
programming, with the possibility of co-creating programs that may be replicated across locations. The
location-specific programming chairs (of Tempe, downtown, Poly, and West) will be supporting each
other, collaborating and meeting when possible to ensure the effectiveness, the efficiency, the
inclusivity, and the positive impact of their programs.

Alumni Chair: The Alumni chair will develop strategies and programs to meaningfully engage with ASU
alumni who have and continue to identify as Changemakers. They will be responsible for creating
historical contact information for students who are or were engaged with Changemaker Central,
whether in a leadership role or a participant in a program. The chair is responsible for crafting
communications to Changemaker alumnus, collaborating with location specific programming chairs on
event ideation and developing a strategy to outreach to Changemaker alumni to maintain connection
and relationship.
