Dear Members
I would like to thank all the members and their guests
who attended the Fa Cai Night event for their support.
Although there was an initial technical hitch with the
sound system, it was an enjoyable evening.
We are all concerned about the renewal of the Club’s
land lease and we can see some light at the end of the
tunnel. Singapore Land Authority replied that they are
waiting for Sport Singapore; who are still evaluating the
Club’s request for help to head the land lease. We are in
contact with Sport Singapore on this matter and shall
update members when there is further developments.
As one of the Club’s objectives is to contribute to society,
we are supporting the ActiveSG movement by being the
first private club to offer her sports facilities to ActiveSg
members. We are allowing ActiveSG members to use the
Club’s Gym and swimming pool during off-peak hours
and they can use their ActiveSG dollars to pay for the
fees and Club members who are also ActiveSG members
can also use their ActiveSG dollars to pay for Gym usage.
We have decided to put the installation of Jacuzzis
on hold till we have a clearer picture of the land lease
situation. We purchased the new Club van and have
started a free shuttle service to fetch members to and
from the Club albeit on a limited schedule.
Due to the current environment, the committee have
decided to suspend transfer fees till further notice. With
this suspension of transfer fees, it is an opportune time
for members who want to pass on their membership
to whoever they choose to do so before the transfer
fee is reinstated. Successful transfers are subject to an
administrative fee $500.
The date for the 27th CBC Annual General Meeting is
confirmed to be held in the Chan Ah Kow Hall on Sunday,
28 June 2015 starting at 3.00pm. I look forward to your
participation.
