Then, turn right onto Summers Drive, go two miles, and the range is on your left as you start to round the bend. From Charleston: Take I-26 to Ashley Phosphate Rd. Turn left on Ashley Phosphate. Take Ashley Phosphate to Hwy 642 (Dorchester Rd), turn right onto Dorchester Rd. Take Dorchester Rd to Hwy 165 (Bacons Bridge Rd), turn left onto Bacons Bridge Rd. Take Bacons Bridge Rd to 61 (Beech Hill Rd), turn right onto 61 (Beech Hill RD). Take Beech Hill Rd to Summers Dr and turn left onto Summers Dr. Go two miles on Summers Dr, range will be on your left as you start to round the bend. 1|P a ge MATCH BRIEFING REGISTRATION All shooters must complete registration in person to include signing the range waiver form. Registration times are on page 5, and shooters will also receive an email with the times and locations. All squadding was completed online prior to the in-person registration process. The stats personnel will not be able to move any shooters to a different squad during the in-person registration process. SHOOTING TIMES Friday shooters will start as soon as the Range Master has approved all stages and a short staff meeting has been conducted. It is our goal to conduct the staff meeting at 0830 and have first shots fired at 0900. Saturday shooters will start promptly at 0800. Please report to your start stage 15 minutes prior to your starting time in the morning. Shooters are expected to stay with their squad. Missing your squad's start time will result in a DNF for the stage unless prior arrangements have been made with the Range Master or Match Director. Early starts are allowed on a stage as long as your entire squad is present and all shooters/staff agree to start early. RANGE RULES / RANGE SAFETY Palmetto Gun Club is a COLD range during all shooting events. There shall be no handling of firearms unless you are in a designated safety area or under the direction of a range officer. CARS ARE NOT SAFE AREAS! All firearms must be in a bag, box, holster, etc. all other times. No ammo, snap-caps, dummy ammo, etc. will be handled in the safe area. There are no exceptions! Also, please remember to wear your eye and ear protection. This also goes for all bystanders/family members that may be joining you on the range. NO OPEN CONTAINERS OF ALCOHOL PERMITTED ON THE RANGE at any time. The Blue Bullets 2015 South Carolina State Championship match is a sanctioned Level II USPSA event. This match will operate under the rules published in the most recent edition of the USPSA Competition Handgun Rules. Chronograph procedures will follow the rules described in Appendix C2, with a minimum of eight rounds collected from all competitors. Competitors may also be selected at random to go through the chronograph for a second check. HOT AREA / TEST FIRING The test firing of guns may be permitted at the chronograph area pending the availability of the Range Officer on the chronograph. This hot area is being offered as a courtesy, and it should not be expected that the hot area will be available at any certain time of the day, if at all. LOST BRASS POLICY All brass collected during this match will be distributed among the Range Officers as a thanks for their hard work. Please do not collect your brass from the stages. 2|P a ge RANGE FACILITIES Restrooms : Both permanent structure restrooms and portable toilets are located throughout the range. Please refer to the range map on the inside of the front cover for locations. Food Service : Swig and Swine, an award winning Charleston BBQ restaurant, will be on hand both Friday and Saturday to provide food service during your squad's scheduled lunch break. Both cash and credit/debit cards will be accepted. A copy of the menu is included on page 19 of this match booklet. Parking : Club volunteers will be on hand both mornings to direct parking. Please pay close attention to their instructions as we need to carefully control parking so that we will have room for all competitors. Spectators : Spectators are welcome on the range. Please make sure all spectators have appropriate eye and ear protection at all times. Children must be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian at all times. No climbing on the berms or props. Spectators will need to sign a waiver at the registration booth. Vendors : A vendor booth will be located in the covered area near the food services tent. Only official vendors who have been pre-approved by the Match Director are permitted use of this area. PRIZES / TROPHIES / RECOGNITION The Blue Bullets 2015 South Carolina State Championship Match is a cash payout match. Division, class and category winners will be given cash awards and a plaque as per appendix A2 of the USPSA rule book. This means that divisions must have a minimum of 5 competitors per division for recognition, and classes must have a minimum of 5 competitors per class for recognition. Individual categories will be recognized of there are a minimum of 5 competitors per division category. In addition to the above, South Carolina champions per division will receive a cash award and plaque. The amount of each award and the number of awards per class will be solely contingent on the overall number of paying shooters and the number of paying shooter per class. A competitor may receive all plaques for which he or she merits, however a competitor is only entitled to one cash award. The cash not awarded because of multiple winners will be returned to the pool for all prizes. The total amount of cash awards for any division will be based upon the number of competitors in that division. A class winner in one division might receive more than the same class winner for another division, but it is our goal that the distribution of prizes reflect the number of competitors in each division. Individual categories are as follows : Law Enforcement : Full time, salaried LEO with arrest powers. Senior : Over the age of 55 on the first day of the match Super Senior : Over the age of 65 on the first day of the match. Junior : Under the age of 18 on the first day of the match Lady : Gender as listed on official government-issued ID. Military : A shooter who is on full time active duty in the armed forces. 3|P a ge MATCH RESULTS Unofficial match results will be posted to the Practiscore website periodically during the match. Printed copies of the results might be available at certain points during the match. Please check outside the stats office for preliminary results during the match. Final (official) match results will be posted to the USPSA website. Shooters will not be permitted to access the Practiscore scoring network at the range. VERIFICATION OF SHOOTER INFORMATION It is the responsibility of the shooter to make sure that all of his/her information is correct on the sticker affixed to the front of the shooter’s score sheet packet. If there are any mistakes, you must let someone in stats know when you receive the packet during your registration. AWARDS AND COLLECTION OF PRIZES/CASH/PLAQUES Prizes on the random draw prize table will be available to shooters after lunch on both Friday and Saturday. Please make sure to stop by the prize table to see if your name was drawn for a prize. You must claim all prizes before you leave the match. Random draw prizes will not be shipped. Cash awards and plaques will be mailed to all shooters after the match. Please make sure that your email address and phone number on file is correct during registration. This is how you will be contacted in the event that you have won a cash prize and/or a plaque. Please allow 2-4 weeks for cash prizes to be mailed, and please allow 4-6 weeks for plaques to be mailed. If you are a member at one of the South Carolina clubs (Palmetto Gun Club, Mid-Carolina Rifle Club, or Spartanburg Practical Shooters Association), your plaque and cash prize will be brought to one of your club’s next monthly matches for distribution.
