REGISTRATION
POLICIES
Late Fees
Davis Arts Center fees are due at the time of
registration. Students may not participate unless
fees have been paid. Teachers cannot be paid if
fees are outstanding, so please be courteous to
your teacher and to Arts Center staff by paying
for classes at the start of each session. A $5
administration fee will be charged for each class
registration received more than 1 week after the
beginning of the class.
Cancellations
We urge you to register at least 1 week before
the beginning of a class session, since minimum
enrollment must be met for classes to be held.
When enrollment is below minimum 5 days
prior to the first day of class, there is a strong
possibility that the class will be cancelled. We
will make every effort to contact registered
students in a timely manner if cancellation
occurs. If a class you have registered for is
cancelled, you may choose to have your fee
refunded in full or transferred to another class.
Wait Lists
Once an instructor’s maximum enrollment is
reached, names will be placed on a wait list and
students will be notified if an opening occurs.
Contact the Davis Arts Center office to be added
to a wait list.
Refund Policy
All refunds due to student withdrawal are
subject to a $2.50 administration fee. Please
be certain that you are able to attend before
registering for a class. Notification of withdrawal
must be given at least 10 business days before
the start of the class, or you will also be
responsible for the materials fee (if any).
Registrations are considered final 5 business
days before the first class, and no refunds
will be given after this time. Exceptions to
this policy may be granted only in cases of
documented family or medical emergency (see
front office staff).
Davis Arts Center does not pro-rate fees due
to planned absences, minor illnesses, vacation
schedules, or other conflicts. Classes are not
refunded or pro-rated due to failure to attend.
Permission from the instructor is needed for
exceptions to this policy. If a pro-rated or dropin payment is approved by the instructor, a $2.50
administration fee will be applied to pro-rate
one or more classes in a session.
Participation Policies

NOVEL-IN-A-MONTH WRITE SHOP
(TEENS & ADULTS, 16+)
Can you write a novel in a month? Join us this
fall in accepting the NaNoWriMo challenge:
draft a 50,000 word novel during the 30 days of
November! We will meet once in October for an
introduction to the NaNoWriMo concept, and to
discuss strategies for approaching the novel draft.
Meetings during November will be a “write-shop”
format, with each class full of writing exercises and
motivations to get the words flowing toward the
50,000 word goal. One final meeting in December
will provide time for participants to share selections
from their work, discuss future steps with material,
and celebrate and reflect on the NaNoWriMo
experience. New and experienced NaNoWriMo
writers are welcome. Note: final two classes meet
on Monday. (Session fee includes a $10 facility fee.)
