Christmas Party The CHA Christmas party was held Dec. 13, 2014 at the clubhouse and was attended by 50 members. This year’s theme was Mexican. Chicken enchiladas, beef burritos, Spanish rice and taco salad were the main courses. Beautifully prepared by Peggy Cavanaugh and Mary Gerbig. As always, the appetizers and deserts from our membership topped out an outstanding event. The fresh cut tree and table greens were provided by George Carpenter. guest user. This feature was added last fall as part of our new contract with Charter to provide television cable and internet. This is part of the continuing effort to provide more services for our members. SPEEDING IN CHA – Members have expressed concern for how fast some owners, renters and contractors are driving in the sub. There have been some frightening moments. Speeds in the 35-45 mph range are just too fast for safety in CHA. Walkers and bikers use the road too. It will be too late once someone’s child or pet is killed. Speed limit is 25! PLEASE SLOW DOWN! Clubhouse News Plans are to open the clubhouse and activate the combination entry lock on April 1, 2015. The clubhouse expansion was complete last summer with the addition of a new covered patio, with ceiling fan. Two French doors with screen doors were added to provide access to the patio. The clubhouse now has WiFi that can be accessed as a Kayak Rack Our kayak rack has been rebuilt to hold 20 kayaks because of increased demand from members. Chuck Whetsel has constructed a mobile step for members to use to access the highest racks. The rack is provided for the exclusive use of CHA members, and storage must be applied for by filling out Page 2 Cherry Home News an application available on the CHA website and emailing the completed application to Lynn at [email protected]. Use of the rack to store a kayak must be preapproved and kayaks must be locked to the rack at all times when not in use. Rack assignments will be made based on the size and weight of each kayak.
