Holding up to ten people the Gig is sailed from Bradwell waterside, the wind and tide will determine the destination for the lunch stop. No previous sailing experience is necessary. Sandstone Exploration Day Learn and practice the basic skills of climbing whilst bouldering on the 130 million year old sandstone at Harrison rocks near Tunbridge Wells in Kent. A physical and hands on day where you can’t avoid getting dirty pushing your self to new limits and learning to support and trust the other party members. Canoeing or Kayaking - A paddling trip along the picturesque Chelmer River near Danbury in Essex. Ideal for those who have already mastered the skills of paddling in a straight line is this trip on gently moving water through the Essex countryside with lunch by a weir. The day out by nature is a wet one and all but the fittest find it tiring. 5 (! $)! " +!(!)( TENT VILLAGES OAK CAMP - SLEEPS 48 (6 x 8 berth tents) CHESTNUT CAMP - SLEEPS 96 EVENING ACTIVITIES At Stubbers we know the value of keeping the kids occupied into the evening. Group leader accompanied activities and games run every day from 5 till 6.30 and 7 till 8.30. All you have to do is sign up at the beginning of your stay to join in. Activities include games and competitions, Camp fire and Evening walk in Local woodland. (12 x 8 berth tents) MAPLE LODGE – RESIDENTIAL CENTRE: SLEEPS 48 Groups hiring the residential centre will have exclusive use of the building. The centre has a fully equipped kitchen with cutlery and crockery. There is a TV lounge with video/DVD player and a drying room. Sheets, duvet and pillowcases are provided as standard. DISABLED ACCESS CARAVAN SLEEPS 4 Accessible accommodation for 2 wheelchair users and 2 carers. Situated next to Maple Lodge the Disabled access caravan is available to groups during their stay. Ramped access, kitchen, lounge with TV, bathroom / wet room and 2 bedrooms, both sleeping 2 people, 1st bedroom with support handles over the beds and wide floor space, 2nd bedroom smaller for carers. 6 Tent village accommodation is in bungalow type frame tents each with 4 fitted bunk beds sleeping 8, and plenty of floor space. Each village has a 60 foot marquee complete with wooden floor, kitchen units, tables and benches. Along with an electricity supply to provide power for the medium sized fridge / freezer and lighting. (4 x 8 berth tents) A gas oven/stoves and gas water boiler are provided, with refills free of charge. A basic set of pots, pans and cooking utensils is provided. You will however need to bring your own set of sharp knives and consumables such as washing up detergent, matches, dishcloths and black bags. Orchard Camp accommodation is in bungalow type frame tents each with 4 fitted bunk beds, and plenty of floor space. The Orchard Camp includes a small multi purpose building, The Forest Lodge, which has kitchen and dining room and toilet facilities. Sufficient kitchen equipment, cutlery and crockery are provided in the Forest Lodge. Personal bedding and eating equipment are not provided - campers will need to bring their own. ORCHARD CAMP: SLEEPS 32 Personal bedding is not provided - campers will need to bring their own. CATERING Make your stay more relaxing by letting us provide the catering. The standard package includes a cooked breakfast, staff attended lunch and a cooked evening meal. Special dietary requirements must be notified as soon as possible. We can assist your D of E programme at Bronze, Silver and Gold award. Bring a whole year group at a discounted rate! Rotating round a number of challenges in groups of 20, groups will take part various activities in the following areas; Team Challenge, Towers, Problem solving and Personal challenge. NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY COURSES Students work towards a nationally recognised attainment award from the list below: British Canoe Union 1 star Royal Yachting Association Stages 1 or 2 National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme levels 1 or 2 These courses will usually be run over the course of half a term with one visit per week. EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT - £90 PER DAY PER PUPIL WE COME TO YOU Based on your school playing field the Stubbers team can bring a day of outdoor adventure to your door fitting into the schools timetable for the day without the need to organise costly transport. We will then reserve the space for up to 14 days and send you a Booking confirmation Form plus any further details you need to proceed with your reservation. CONFIRM THE BOOKING Return your completed Booking Form with your deposit. You will then receive your payment plan and our Operations team will create your programme, if you have any specific requirements or activity preferences please inform us as soon as possible. (Subject to availability) FINAL BALANCE The final balance is payable 90 days prior to your visit. FAQ’S What if our numbers change? Changes to your booking should be advised to us as soon as possible. An administration fee of £5 will be applied for issue of a new invoice following a change. If reducing your numbers inside of 12 weeks before your trip you will incur cancellation charges. Please see our terms and conditions for full details. 10 What if we have to cancel? If you need to cancel your booking you should notify us in writing as early as possible. Cancelling with less than 12 weeks to go before your trip will incur charges. Please see our terms and conditions for full details. What is included in the price? Price includes all activity equipment and instruction including specialist activity equipment. For residential trips a varied evening entertainment programme is also included (April to October)??? Do teachers and Leaders have to pay? TBC Can the weather affect our trip? Most activities are not affected by the weather as long as the children are dressed appropriately. However, Stubbers reserve the right to change an activity if we deem it necessary. What facilities do you have on site? Within our picturesque 130 acre site we are pleased to provide, full changing and shower facilities. The Source Coffee shop is open every day providing high quality drinks and snacks. The Young adventurers play park is available for use under the supervision of group leaders. Do any of the activities have any restrictions? Yes, The Zip wire and Jacob’s ladder are not suited for children below year 9. All other activities are accessible to all ages (8+) and abilities. If you have any special requirements or access issues within your group please contact our booking team to discuss your needs. How do you recruit your staff? The staff team at Stubbers contains many years experience both at Stubbers and at other centres. Upon application all staff are required to undertake an Enhanced CRB disclosure, provide us with 3 satisfactory references, undertake a training period (the length of which depends on qualifications and experience) and work their first month on probation. All staff are qualified First Aiders. Does Stubbers have Insurance? Stubbers Adventure Centre has £10 Million public liability insurance. Any claim for compensation will be referred to the underwriters. We strongly advise that you take out suitable insurance cover against cancellation, accidental injury and for loss of or damage to personal property while visiting the centre. CONDITIONS Do participants need to be able to swim? No, in the safe confines of our lakes we do not require participants to be able to swim. They must however be confident in water when wearing a personal floatation device (PFD). 11
