until piece measures 17½ (18½, 19½, 20)", ending with a
WS row.
Shape Neck:
Row 1 (RS): Work in established patt across 30 (32, 35,
38) sts, join a 2nd ball of yarn and bind off center 14 (16,
16, 16) sts, continue working across rem 30 (32, 35, 38)
sts.
Row 2: Working both sides separately at the same time,
work in patt.
*Dec Row (RS): Work to last 3 sts before neck, k2tog, k1,
move to other shoulder, k1, ssk, work to end. Work 1 WS
row.* Rep from * to * 3 (3, 5, 4) more times.
**Dec Row 2 (RS): Work to last 3 sts before neck, k2tog,
k1, move to other shoulder, k1, ssk, work to end. Work 3
rows even.** Rep from ** to ** 2 (2, 1, 2) more times –
23 (25, 27, 30) sts on each shoulder. Work even for 4 (10,
10, 10) more rows.
Shape Shoulders: Bind off 12 (12, 14, 16) sts at beg of
next 2 rows, then bind off 11 (13, 13, 14) sts at beg of next
2 rows.
FINISHING
Damp block to measurements. Sew shoulder seams.
Sew side seams to underarm markers. With crochet
hook, work 1 rnd of single crochet around each armhole
and neck edge. Weave in ends.
