AUCTION INSTRUCTIONS
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Attendee must register in order to receive a personal bidder
number.
2. All sales are final, with no exchanges or refunds permitted.
Everything is sold “as is.” Please read specifications and
restrictions carefully.
3. MPILP accepts cash, check, or credit card (Visa, Master Card,
American Express, & Discover).
4. For donations requiring contact with the donor, buyers are
responsible for making the initial contact.
5. Winning bidders will receive their item(s) or, if applicable,
instructions on securing good(s)/service(s) at Check Out.
6. Buyers of all “getaways” and other auction items that involve the
temporary use of a donor’s property shall return the property to
the donor in the condition in which it was received. Any
additional charges incurred are the buyer’s responsibility.
7. Buyers waive any claims for liability against MPILP, auction staff,
and donors of property or services. MPILP, its auction staff, and
donors are not responsible for any personal injuries or damages
that may result from the use of property or services sold.
8. Any physical auction items not collected within 3 months of
tonight’s auction will be returned to the donor.
SILENT AUCTION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Each item has a bid sheet. The bidder writes her bidder # and the
bid amount on the sheet, subject to the below restrictions.
2. Enter a bid on the bid sheet’s first available blank line, in whole
dollar amounts. Notify auction staff if a bid sheet is filled.
3. Minimum Bid. Please observe the minimum bid noted on the top
of the bid sheet.
4. Bid Increments. Please observe the bid increment noted on the bid
sheet. Improper bids will not be counted.
8
5. The Silent Auction will close in two stages: The Red
Auction closes at 8:10 p.m. and the Black Auction closes at
8:30 p.m. No bids will be accepted after a table is closed. Final
bids cannot be withdrawn unless an auction staff member
determines that the bid is incorrect.
6. Silent Auction results will be posted as soon as possible after each
auction closes in the Check Out area.
LIVE AUCTION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The Live Auction will follow the Silent Auction in the Atrium.
2. The items will be called for bidding in the order in which they are
listed in the program. Note—the order in the program is subject
to change due to last minute additions or other factors.
3. Bids are made by raising the bidder’s personal bidder card
(provided at registration) and having it recognized by the
auctioneer.
4. All decisions by the auctioneer are final.
CHECK OUT:
1. Cashiers cannot process payments until after Silent Auction
winners are posted. We regret any inconvenience this might cause
and appreciate your patience. Our hope is that staggered silent
auction closings will prevent lengthy delays.
2. Winners of the Red Silent Auction items who wish to bid during
the Black silent auction or the live auction should proceed
directly to that auction.
3. Bidders who wish to leave the event prior to the close of the live
auction should proceed to Check Out, where an auction staff
member will assist you.
4. Bidders leaving prior to Check Out are asked to leave credit card
information with a cashier so that in the case of a purchase,
payment and pickup/delivery can be made in a timely fashion.
