2015 Jacksonville City Election Voter Guide
This Voter Guide is intended to provide information about the
candidates that are running for elected office in the City of
Jacksonville. The issues addressed by the Voter Guide are
limited specifically to the position of candidates on matters
of the Biblical Family and Protecting the Lives of Unborn
Children. It is not meant to be the sole source of information
for making your decision. Sources used for this guide are
believed to be genuine and accurate.
Every voter is encouraged to seek out information
independent of this guide to make their own, informed
decision.
Biblical Family issues will be an important element of the City
Commission Election in this next cycle. In 2012, the City
Commission wrestled with the question of an ordinance to
establish Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Gay, and Transgenderidentified individuals as a specific group for whom
provisions were to be provided. The law was titled
Ordinance 2012-296 and lost by a single commissioner’s vote. Communities in Duval County, namely Atlantic
Beach and Neptune Beach, have passed laws enacting such
provisions. The outcomes of these provisions are having a
significant impact on the faith communities through out
the United States, including here in Florida.
Candidates’ positions on Protecting the Lives of Unborn
Children have an important role in the ability to work on a
local level to save women, men, families, and unborn
children from the devastation wrought by local abortion
facilities.
