Whimsey by Classic Elite (100% nylon, 50 gram ball = approx 140
yards)
• 2 balls 4020 Cloud
Needles
• One pair size US 101⁄2 (6.5 mm)
Or size to obtain gauge
GAUGE: 16 sts = 4” in St st. Take time to save time, check your
gauge.
PATTERN STITCHES:
Garter Stitch (Gtr st): Knit every row.
Garter Drop Stitch:
Row 1: (wrong side) K1, *yarn over (yo) twice, k1; repeat from *
across.
Row 2: K1; drop yo’s off needle; repeat from * across to last st, k1.
Rows 3 - 6: Work in Gtr st.
Repeat Rows 1 – 6 for Garter Drop Stitch.
FRINGE (optional)
If fringe is desired, cut before beginning scarf. Wind yarn around a 6"
piece of cardboard 60 times; cut one end and set aside.
SCARF
Cast on 30 sts; work 5 rows in Gtr st, end right side row. Change to
Garter Drop Stitch patt; work even until piece measures 60” from
beginning, end Row 6. Bind off all sts.
FINISHING
Attach fringe to cast on and bound off edges of scarf by looping two
pieces of cut yarn through every other st. Trim evenly.
