Hello, and welcome to CiLK’s twenty first Bi-Monthly Bulletin. This
edition includes information about Independent Living Fund, Health
Networks, CiLK Social Events, outreach locations and ‘Did You Know’
section. Enjoy the read!
Independent Living Fund – ILF
As most people will be aware the ILF will be stopping in June this year.
For those who currently receive this and live in Kent you will be
receiving a letter from Kent County Council about a reassessment in
light of the fund ending. CiLK is on hand if you would like any support
through this process such as a CiLK representative attending your
reassessment meeting. Please contact the CiLK Office if you would like
any support.
Health Networks
There are a number of Health Networks in Kent and Medway which are
part of the local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). They are a
virtual group of people made up of patients, members of the public and
voluntary organisations who are interested in getting more involved in
how services are designed and planned. If you are interested in joining
one of these groups then please find the contact details below for your

CiLK Social Events
Some of our members have expressed an interest in CiLK arranging
some social events. We have listened and can now let you know that
we have two events coming up. Please see details below:
Cinema
When: Friday 22 May 2015
Where: TBC once we know who is coming
At: Evening (exact time and film to follow)
Cost: People will be responsible for buying their own ticket
If you require someone to accompany you to the cinema you may be
eligible for a Cinema Exhibitors Association (CEA) card which entitles
you to a free ticket for the person accompanying you. To apply for this

Quiz
When: Saturday 20 June 2015
Where: Cheriton Baptist Church Hall, Quested Road, Folkestone, Kent
CT19 4BY
At: 3-5.30pm
Cost: £5 per person which includes refreshments (PA’s/carers are free)
Parking: There is no car park but you can park along the main road for 3
hours with a blue badge and along the side streets for an unlimited
amount of time

Did You Know?
Shepway Lifeline – Shepway Lifeline does not just cover Shepway but
much further afield including Thanet, Swale, Dover, Ashford, Canterbury
and they even have clients as far as Dartford. A lifeline provides peace
of mind were you to have a fall or experience an emergency whilst at
home. On the press of a button your call goes through to a central
office where help is called for as appropriate. For more details please

Key Safes – Some people benefit from having a key safe outside their
home. There are several places where key safes can be bought online
or in shops.
