4th Annual
Flagship Bicycle Ride
May is recognized nationally and in the City of
Pascagoula as Bike Month, and the festivities will
kick off with the Fourth Annual Flagship Ride
on May 2, 2015 at 7:00 a.m. at Beach Park. The
ride will include 5, 10, and 25-mile route options
through Pascagoula. The registration fee is $1
per mile. Proceeds from the registration fees will
go toward Pascagoula’s efforts to become a
Bicycle Friendly Community, specifically the
purchase of cyclist amenities and educational
outreach. A barbeque plate lunch from Tay’s
BBQ will be included with a 25-mile
registration. Additional plates will be available
for purchase for $10. In addition to the ride,
there will be an educational component at
Beach Park including proper helmet fit, ABC
Quick Check, class information, and more.
Those interested in participating in the
Flagship Ride are encouraged to pre-register,
although it is not required. Onsite registration
begins at 7:00 a.m. the morning of the 2nd and
the ride will begin at 9:30 a.m. Morning
refreshments will be provided by Crazy B’s
Coffee and Confections. The Flagship Ride
will begin at Beach Park is located at 600 City
Park Street in Pascagoula.

Paddlepalooza showcases the lower
Pascagoula River Blueway and paddle
sports at Lighthouse Park on May 30.
Enjoy live music, food, inflatables, kids
activities, kayak demo’s, kayak safety
education and more!
Take in some spectacular sunset views
as Pascagoula Paradise Paddlers will
lead you on a tranquil twilight paddle
along the lower Pascagoula River
Blueway. This gentle excursion is
great for paddlers of all abilities.
The Pascagoula Paddlepalooza
Festival will be at Lighthouse Park,
3621 Frederic Street. The event
starts at 3:00 pm and lasts until
11:00 pm.

for a free fireworks show celebrating the
birth of our nation! The show begins at
9:00pm! Be sure to tune into Magic 93.7
during the fireworks show to really get
into the patriotic spirit!
Each group must have 1 staff person for
every 15 children.

Outdoor Adventure Camp
Campers will learn about birds, reptiles,
amphibians, mammals and their habitats.
Adventures include: Scranton Nature Center,
Scranton Museum. Registration is open until
June 26! Camp dates: June 29 - July 2

Pascagoula’s GO Day
Held in conjunction with National Get Outdoors Day, June 13! GO Day will take place at the Scranton
Nature Center at IG Levy Park North • 3928 Nathan Hale Avenue from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Come get
back in touch with nature, and meet some of Jackson County’s furry, feathered and scaly residents! The
MGCCC Estuarine Education Center will offer kayaking on Whitehead Lake. If you’re in the market for a
four-legged family member, the Jackson County Animal Shelter will be offering pet adoptions,
microchipping and vaccinations for a fee. Details were still under development at publication time.
2nd Saturday Bike Ride
Enjoy a casual ride along Pascagoula’s
historic bike trail every second Saturday of the
month. Cyclist will meet at Beach Park and
begin their ride at 8:00 am. Refreshments will
be provided by Crazy B’s Coffee Shop during
the ride back to Beach Park. All ages are
welcome at this event.
Kayaking Classes

American Canoe Association

Bring a blanket and plan to picnic. As a courtesy to others, please no
tall chairs, tents, pets or smoking. This is a free community event.
Concessions are available for purchase. Rain out location will be
shown at the Pascagoula Recreation Center 2935 Pascagoula Street.
