RECYCLING UPDATE — Use the Blue And Save Green!
City residents and businesses recycled about 7,700 tons in 2014 — our best year since 2008!
Residents and businesses benefitted by over $480,000 from avoided landfill disposal costs and
revenues from recycled material sales. These savings are reflected in monthly sanitation rates.
Recycling is good for Victorville and the Environment, so remember to “Use the Blue, and Save
Green!” Here’s what should go in your blue curbside recycling bin:

PAPER & CARDBOARD:
Includes newspapers, advertisements,
magazines, junk mail, phone books,
notebook paper, catalogs, cereal boxes
(w/out liners), paper egg cartons, paper
grocery bags, all types of cardboard
boxes, and all other clean, dry papers.
TIN & ALUMINUM CANS:
Includes food and drink cans, pet food
cans, EMPTY aerosol cans, also clean
aluminum foil and foil trays.

GLASS BOTTLES & JARS:
Includes glass bottles and jars
only. Wine & Beer bottles, and
other glass food and beverage
bottles/jars.

Cash For Grass Is Back!
Eligible customers can receive up to 50 cents per square foot
of living and maintained turf removed and replaced with desert
adaptive plants. Funding is limited and is available on a first
come-first served basis. Call the City of Victorville Conservation
Division at 1-866-955-4420 ASAP to get an application and
to schedule a pre-inspection.
