MANDATORY WATER CONSERVATION
The City of Walnut Urges Residents to Be Water Wise!
UPDATED EMERGENCY WATER RESTICTIONS
CURRENT CITY-WIDE
WATER RESTRICTIONS
- Watering outdoor landscapes in a way
that causes water to “runoff” on to
adjacent property, non-irrigated areas,
private and public walkways, roadways,
parking lots, or structures.
- Washing a vehicle, with a hose without
a shut-off nozzle or other device that will
immediately stop the flow of water when
not in use. - Using drinking water in a fountain or
other decorative water feature, except
where the water is recirculated.
- Residents are not allowed to irrigate turf
or ornamental grass during and 48 hours
following a measurable precipitation.
- Restaurants and other food service
establishments can only serve water to
customers upon request.
- Operators of hotels and motels must
provide guests with the option not to
have towels and linens laundered daily and
prominently display notice of this option.
- Washing down hard or paved surfaces,
including but not limited to sidewalks,
walkways, driveways, parking areas, tennis
courts, patios, or alleys, is prohibited
except when necessary to alleviate safety
or sanitary hazards.

NEW IRRIGATION RESTRICTIONS
EFFECTIVE AS OF MAY 11, 2015
WALNUT VALLEY WATER DISTRICT CUSTOMERS:
• Limit on Watering Hours: Watering or irrigating of lawn, landscape, or other
vegetated area with potable water is prohibited between the hours of 8:00 am
and 5:00 pm.
• Limit on Water Days: Watering or irrigating of lawn, landscape, or other
vegetated area with potable water is limited to two (2) days per week. This
provision does not apply to landscape irrigation zones that exclusively use very
low-flow drip type irrigation systems when no emitter produces more than two
(2) gallons of water per hour. This provision also does not apply to watering or
irrigating by use of a hand-held bucket or similar container, a hand-held hose
equipped with a positive self-closing water shut-off nozzle, or for very short
periods of time for the express purpose of adjusting or repairing an irrigation
system.
•Limit on Watering Duration: Watering or irrigating of lawn, landscape, or
other vegetated area with potable water using a landscape irrigation system or a
watering device is limited to no more than fifteen (15) minutes watering per day
per station.

GOLDEN STATE WATER CUSTOMERS:
•Limit on Watering Hours: All outdoor irrigation must occur before 8:00 am or
after 7:00 pm.
•Limit on Watering Days: Golden State Water customers may not irrigate
outdoor landscapes or turf with potable water more than two (2) days per week.
Customers are encouraged to check the back of their water bill for updates.
Information regarding specific outdoor irrigation days will be posted when it
becomes available.

SUBURBAN WATER SYSTEMS CUSTOMERS:
•Limit on Watering Days: Suburban has a Drought Contingency Plan that limits
your irrigation of outside landscapes or turf with potable water to three (3) days
per week.
•If your house number or business address ends in an even number, like 532,
4298, or 8266 water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Odd numbered
addresses Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
