Originating from South Africa, we introduce our familyowned and operated business, L2D Combat, located in
Florida, USA. L2D Combat is owned by Ian Heunis, a
former South African militar y member, who earned his
stripes fighting in the bush and deserts of Africa. We
are firearm enthusiasts with a passion for competitive
shooting, cutting edge technology and collecting a
broad inventor y of firearms and accessories.
L2D Combat is a registered federal firearms licensed
07/manufacturer/dealer and 02/Sot licensed to sell NFA
Class 111 firearms, suppressors and munitions. We
manufacture, sell and source all types of firearms. We
also specialize in manufacturing and modifying GLOCK
slides milled from 416 stainless steel raw bar complete
to the finished product.
Our customization ser vices include full and partial
stippling of various textures, trigger modifications and
undercuts, mag wells and a variety of other custom
ser vices. We have the ability to fully customize our
slides in a variety of unique cuts and amazing finishes.

L2D Firearm Finishes
Titanium nitride (TiN)
Titanium nitride (TiN) was one of the first coatings
developed for metal cutting tool applications, and
remains a mainstay of the coating business. Often
incorrectly called TiNi, or Tin, it is bright gold in color,
hard, and suitable for most wear applications. TiN is
used successfully on medical devices. Our TiN coating
complies with aerospace specification AMS 2444A.
Zirconium Nitride (ZrN)
Zirconium Nitride (ZrN) is the name of the class of
coatings developed by CSG for medical and orthodontic
products. It is a light-gold color known for its
biocompatibility and exceptional wear properties.
Titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN)
Titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN) was developed
for high speed machining, as it can withstand higher
temperatures than TiN or TiCN. It is a very hard, dark
gray coating. CSG’s TiAlN class includes our Standard
Rifle Coating, or SRC. SRC is a special coating shaded
to limit visibility at a distance, and textured to increase
oil absorption for reduced corrosion and easy firearm
maintenance. We provide this coating on a variety of
military firearm components.
Nitride Finishes
Black nitride (TiAlN)
Metal components treated with Black Nitride have
increased wear-resistance, fatigue strength, corrosion
resistance, lubricity and cosmetic appeal. Often replacing
the more expensive processes of hard chrome or nickel
plating, Black Nitride gives better corrosion protection
at equivalent or lower costs. Additionally, Black Nitride
is commonly used as an alternative to high temperature
conventional heat treatments such as carburizing and
carbonitriding.
Cerakote
Cerakote is an abrasion and impact-resistant material that can be
applied to firearms and parts including metal, plastic, composite and
other surfaces, reducing maintenance and adding years of service life
and functionality to any weapon. The new Benelli M4 Cerakote can
operate in virtually any environment. The rust-resistant qualities of
Cerakote are up to 50 times stronger than competitive coatings.

to the corrosive effects of water, salt spray and even abrasive grit and
grime. The improved hardness and scratch-resistance of Cerakote
means a much longer wear cycle, and the adherence quality of
Cerakote is phenomenal and resistant to impact, heat or the extreme
treatment inherent in tactical and combat environments.

Custom PVD Finishes
Physical vapor deposition technology (PVD) has been used extensively
for decorative purposes in numerous applications where scratch and
wear resistance are important to ensure a perfect look for an extended
period of time and intense use.
Ionbond has developed the Decobond™ series of coatings with a
large palette of standard metallic colors for goods that require a wear
resistance surface that cannot be provided by electroplating, anodizing
or lacquer. The coatings are used in numerous applications ranging
from bathroom faucets to firearms into luxury watches.
