There will be a brief presentation, followed by a small-group
discussion format and a reuniting later to share what we’ve

Sunday Serenade: Songs of the 20s, 30s, 40s
Bob Cohen, Presenter
Cabaret Singer/Actor Bob Cohen will be singing and identifying
melodic hits from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. An hour-plus of songs
by Berlin, Gershwin, Warren, Arlen, Kern, and others. Tunes from
Broadway, Hollywood, Tin Pan Alley.
November 23
The Peace in the Middle East
Erol Ulucakli, Presenter
The Middle East, particularly northern Syria and Iraq, is in flames.
There are millions of refugees in Turkey, Jordan, and other
countries. Faulty policies of England and France has been the root
of these problems. Today new actors led by the U.S. want to solve
these problems by bombing the insurgents (ISIS) from the air. But
if ISIS is to be defeated, there have to be troops on the ground.
But the U.S. doesn’t want to do it; it wants Turkey to do the
fighting on the ground. We'll discuss all of these complexities.
November 23
“The Great Debate” by Yuval Levin Part II
Bill Bekkenhuis, Presenter
Conservative political analyst Yuval Levin examines the genesis of
our current debate between political left and right in their iconic
representatives from the tumultuous American and French
revolutions: the Irish-born Edmund Burke, representative in the
House of Commons, and English-American activist Thomas Paine.
We'll examine their lives in context, their common causes and,
ultimately, their fundamental difference in political philosophy and
the role of government.
