There is minimal shaping involved in these lovely wrist warmers - perfect for someone new to
thumb gussets! The honeycomb stitch is fast and easy making this the perfect weekend project for a
beginning knitter who has experience working on double pointed needles. The slip stitch creates a
thick, squishy fabric to keep you extra wooly warm.

About 3 1/2" diameter, 7" from CO to BO edges
YARN
Malabrigo Worsted (Pure Merino Wool; 210 yards / 3.5 ounces): 1 hank Taupe
Note: One hank will be enough to make wrist warmers for yourself and a pair to gift!
NEEDLES & NOTIONS
One set DPN US Size 6 (these are small for the yarn, but you want the honeycomb nice and snug),
or size to obtain gauge.
Two stitch markers
Tapestry Needle
GAUGE
5 1/2 stitches per 1" Stockinette
STITCHES
Honeycomb (multiple of 2)
Round 1 *K1, sl1; rep from * to end.
Rounds 2 and 4 Knit.
Round 3 *Sl1, k1; rep from * to end
Rep rounds 1-4 to complete patt
*All slipped stitches should be slipped knit-wise
WRIST WARMERs (Make 2)
CO 32 (42) sts, join for working in the round being careful not to twist stitches.
Knit 1 round
Purl 1 round
Beg working Honeycomb (See Stitches), rep rounds 1-4 7 times.
Knit even 8 rounds.
Thumb Gusset
Next round, K4 (6), pm, K2, pm, knit to end.
Next round, knit to m, slm, M1, K2, M1, slm, knit to end – 34 (44) sts.
Next round, knit.

Rep prev two rounds four more times – 44 (54) sts
Knit one round.
Next round, knit to first m, rm, BO 14 sts, rm, knit to end – 30 (40) sts
Rejoin for hand
Knit to BO sts, CO 2 sts, knit to end – 32 (42) sts.
Knit even 5 rounds.
Beg working Honeycomb (See Stitches), rep rounds 1-4 two times.
Next round, *k1, sl1; rep from * to end.
Knit 1 round.
Purl 1 round.
BO all sts loosely.
FINISHING
Weave in ends neatly.
