Ideology
• Robotic Open Platform: a central platform for exchanging open hardware designs
• Wiki: each robot is presented on an embedded wiki page including:
− a description of the robot including figures & videos
− link to design files repository including CAD designs, electrical
schemes & parts lists (hardware-equivalent of source code)
− link to software & firmware repository required to operate the robot
• Open-source hardware: ROP users are free to use & further develop robotic designs
• Q&A: ROP users/contributors can ask for assistance from the robotics community
• Intention: accelerate development by reducing start-up efforts of new robotic projects
• Outlook: modular designs & standardized compatible electro-mechanical interfaces
