As part of the Great American Cleanup, the Florida Department of Transportation’s DRIVE IT HOME . . . KEEP OUR PARADISE LITTER-FREE® campaign has launched a statewide Trash-Off Greek and Club Challenge competition! This is your chance to show us how you will help keep Florida’s roadsides and communities litter-free. About the Contest The Trash-Off Greek and Club Challenge is open to every sanctioned college sorority, fraternity or social service club organization in the state of Florida. Using the theme, DRIVE IT HOME . . . KEEP OUR PARADISE LITTER-FREE®, participants are encouraged to express how they will dispose of litter to their audience. Entries submitted must be original and authentic. Possible entries can include one (or more) of the following categories: 1. Artistic Expression (i.e. PSA, commercial, artistic art piece, fashion piece, etc.) 2. Campus/Community Activity (i.e. photos of a trash wipe-out event on campus or community parks grounds, rallying a clean-up day around a lake, etc.) 3. Poetry and Prose (i.e. sharing the written word) 4. Unique Art Piece (i.e. poster, drawing, photography, trash-can decoration, art fashion exhibits, etc.) 5. Video Showcase (i.e. step show, dance, song, jingle, etc.) 6. Other category – Entries that do not fit in any of the specified categories can be submitted and included in this section. Please do provide an overview of the entry submitted. Guidelines Contest Entry Form must be submitted with material. All submissions must be original and authentic. Participating Greek and/or social clubs and organizations must be in sanctioned by and in good standing with the college or university. If artwork is submitted, it cannot be larger than 11” x 17” in final size. Video files can be submitted via mp4, YouTube or Vimeo; audio files can be submitted via mp3. Photos can be provided a jpegs and pdf files. All entries must be submitted to [email protected]. Upon approval, postings will be listed on CleanFLroads Facebook and the CleanFLroads website. Deadline for entry is Friday, April 10, 2015. All materials submitted become property of the DRIVE IT HOME . . . KEEP OUR PARADISE LITTER-FREE® team. Judging The top three submissions to receive the most “likes” via Facebook and the CleanFLroads website will be selected as the top three winners. Prizes will be awarded to the name of the sorority, fraternity and/or social service club. Winners Announced Winning entries will be announced on Earth Day (April 22, 2015) and will be on display at the FDOT offices in Tallahassee, the District Offices throughout the state, and on the campaign’s social media sites. Prizes Include:* 1st Place - $1,000 gift card Plus, up to seven honorable mention 2nd Place - $500 gift card gift cards at $100 each 3rd Place - $250 gift card (recognizing one winner per FDOT district) *All prizes are donated and are not state or federal funds or contract dollars.
