LMA’s Membership Services Committee will discuss
new and existing tools available to our membership
such as Animal Handling and Employee Education, risk
management tools, and much more. Any resolutions from
the committee will be addressed by the Board of Director’s
on Friday, shaping the Association’s package of services and
providing staff directives on issues.

Government & Industry Affairs Committee Meeting
(Open Session)
LMA’s Government & Industry Affairs Committee will
discuss leading regulatory and industry issues ranging
from P&S reform to Animal Disease Traceability. Any
resolutions from the committee will be addressed by the
Board of Directors on Friday, shaping Association policy
and providing staff directives on issues.

Marketeers Tour (Ticket Required — $30, 2 and under free)
Kids young and young at heart are invited to join the LMA
Marketeers on Thursday, June 11th as we venture out to the
Dr. Pepper Museum. We will tour the museum; have an
opportunity to Create a Soft Drink; and enjoy a Dr. Pepper
float from the Soda Fountain. After the tour, we will head
to the Collins Street Bakery for a group luncheon. The bus
will leave at 9:30 a.m. Won’t you be a Pepper too?

livestock industry as a whole and how the auctioneer plays a
role in the business.

The Tools & Training for Proper Animal Handling (Open Session)
Access to the appropriate tools for handling animals in
difficult situations can greatly reduce any risk of injury or
unnecessary stress for livestock and your employees. Learn
more about how a mat can help to move down animals,
how an airgun system may be used to eliminate the need for
electric prods and what your employees need to be trained
for in proper and safe euthanasia.

First up, we will run through the competition schedule and
draw for order. Then all contestants will load the bus to
Clifton Livestock Commission for a market tour and sound
check. Contestants only please. All contestants are required

Cocktails and light snacks amongst our valued tradeshow
vendors and a chance to preview the items up for sale at the
LMA Political Action Committee Auction.

Always a guest favorite, the evening offers dinner, a chance
to catch up with other LMA members, meet the WLAC
semi-finalists and enjoy the excitement of the annual LMA
PAC auction. Reigning WLAC Champion Blaine Lotz will
put his world class chant to work on a wide array of items in
support of the LMA Political Action Committee.

LMA is an association led by its members from the ground
up. That’s why it’s important for all members and guests to
attend the LMA Board of Directors & Membership Meeting.
During this session you will hear reports on industry and
service issues, discuss committee recommendations and
develop association policy.

Clifton Livestock Commission presents “Friday Night Lights”
(Free, but ticket required)
A night of good old-fashioned Texas entertainment at
Baylor University’s McLane Stadium, overlooking the
beautiful Brazos River. Dinner will be by the Baylor Club.
Dancing to follow with live music by Mario Flores and the
Soda Creek Band, a band best known for their hit song,
“Got a Bad Feeling.” Located approximately 5 minutes from
the Hilton Waco, shuttle service will be provided between the
McLane Stadium and the Hilton Waco beginning at 6:00 PM.

All contestants must ride the bus which departs from the

The 31 WLAC semi-finalists will be introduced and
interviewed by reigning Champion Blaine Lotz. Each
contestant will be asked three industry-related questions
and scored by five judges.
