Los Angeles, CA 90039 Contact: Mackenzie Hoffman, Clockshop Program Manager, [email protected] ABOUT THE SITE: Rio de Los Angeles Bowtie Parcel The Bowtie Project is a collaboration between Clockshop and CA State Parks to activate a 18­acre post­industrial lot known as the Bowtie Parcel, located along the LA River in Northeast Los Angeles. Owned by CA State Parks since 2003 and closed to the public for over a decade, Clockshop has been invited to bring a broad and experimental blend of artists’ projects and collaborations to this underutilized piece of land. The Bowtie Parcel of Rio de Los Angeles State Park is a hidden gem in the emerald necklace of the Los Angeles River greenway. The currently undeveloped asphalt lot is optimally th​
positioned to become the 4​
new urban State Park in the Los Angeles Sector. SCHEDULE In order to gain access to the site at 4:00 pm, you must have received confirmation for your reservation. ​
RSVP and campsite payment required in advance. ​
Parking is available on­site. You will be directed where to park upon arrival. **Activities are optional but highly encouraged. SATURDAY MAY 16th 4:00 ­ 5:00pm Campers Arrive / Setup Campsites ● Campers check­in at welcome table to be directed to campsite and receive Bowtie Project wrist band. ​
Campsites are assigned on a first­come, first­serve basis. 4:30pm ­ Sunset FOLAR River Rover ● The mobile Los Angeles River Rover takes visitors through a tour of the River’s past, present and future. FOLAR staff will be onsite. 5:30pm Gathering Circle & Welcome

Campfire Programs with MRCA ● MRCA Rangers will lead 2 campfire programs, one for families with small children and one for teens and adults. Programs include s’mores, songs and storytelling. 8:00 ­ 9:30pm LA Astronomical Society Telescope Viewing ● Volunteer astronomers from LAAS bring high­powered telescopes for stargazing. 11:00pm
Lights Out SUNDAY JUNE 1st 7:00 ­ 9:00am Pack up, Clean up, Depart ● Complimentary coffee provided by Starbucks RECOMMENDED GEAR and SUPPLIES • Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad (unless you have reserved gear through us). • Flashlight or headlamp • Hat and sunscreen • Sneakers or hiking boots • Chair(s) or seating • Cooler with beverages and water. There is no running water on site, you must pack in water. Please try to avoid bringing small plastic water bottles. • Snacks and picnic food items. Tacos are available for purchase, see above. * There is no electric power on site. Phones cannot be charged! RULES & REGULATIONS California State Parks has rules and regulations to protect park areas for the enjoyment of future generations as well as for the convenience and safety of the park visitors. To ensure your visit is a pleasant one, please observe the following: CAMPSITE USE ​
is based on prior reservation. Checkout time is 9:00 am. PARKING/VEHICLES​
must be confined to the designated area. Vehicles will not be allowed on the camping area or to load in. Volunteers and handcarts will be available to assist people the short distance from the parking lot to their sites. FIRES ​
will not be permitted outside of the provided fire pits. Portable stoves are not allowed. It is the responsibility of every visitor to use extreme caution with any burning materials. All fireworks are prohibited. Smoking is discouraged. ANIMALS​
, including dogs, are not allowed at this event, other than those that assist the permanently disabled. LOUD NOISE ​
is prohibited at all times, and is disturbing to those asleep between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. REFUSE​
, including garbage, cigarettes, paper boxes, bottles, ashes and other rubbish, shall be placed only in designated receptacles. PLEASE​
