Invitation to the joint dissemination event of the FP7 projects EcoHubs / Swiftly Green / GreCOR Date: Venue: Thursday, 28 April 2015, from 10:00 to 16:00 Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union Room "Macke/Ernst" Rue Montoyer 47 1000 Brussels (Belgium) Three projects - one goal: providing good examples and recommendations for greening of transport. • EcoHubs' mission and vision is to support terminal operators in improving the efficiency and the greening efforts of their freight hubs/terminals by achieving the right balance between ‘economic’ and ‘environment’ measures. The successful terminal of the future should take an active value-adding role in the transport chain. It should act as an economically and ecologically sustainable link contributing measurable to the overall efficiency of intermodal transport-chains. • GreCOR promotes the development of a co-modal transport corridor in the North Sea Region. Important in this collaborative approach is the focus on secondary networks and hubs as well the regional hinterland around the green transport corridor Oslo-Randstad. GreCOR works in close collaboration with public and private stakeholders, and its overall aim is to improve knowledge about the logistic needs and conditions and develop and implement the first green corridor in the North Sea Region in a strategic policy setting. • Swiftly Green Action aims at producing a tool-box for green corridor development in the framework of TEN-T planning. The tool-box, based on best practices and policy development both at Member States and EU level, will consist of a set of guidelines and recommendations for actions to be implemented by the relevant authorities at the appropriate governance level. SWIFTLY Green will capitalise upon the results of completed and on-going projects as well as on good practice developed among Member States and the transport industry aiming at producing transferable solutions along the TEN-T corridor. Objective: Under 'greening', it is to understand the future needs of freight transport, to support the reduction of environmental impact derived from transport and to contribute to a modal shift towards more sustainable modes of transport. In the morning session, the project partners will report on the various tools developed in their respective project consortia. The afternoon interactive session will be used to discuss further with the participants the transfer of the greening concept in intermodal transport.
