How It Works
First, you can configure the new Windows Server 2012 R2 server with your new application
versions and new database platforms while the Windows Server 2003 machine is still live and in
production. Then, Double-Take solutions can move the data from the live Windows Server 2003
machine to the new Windows 2012 R2 machine, including any file and folder data, application
data, and database data between dissimilar database platforms.
Double-Take Move and Double-Take Share
To migrate file, folder and application data live and in real-time between dissimilar server hardware
platforms or operating system versions, choose Double-Take Move. Double-Take Move allows you
to migrate without suspending or interrupting production operations.
To migrate live data between dissimilar database platforms or operating systems, choose
Double-Take Share. Double-Take Share captures, transforms, enhances, and replicates data across
multiple databases, operating systems and physical, virtual or cloud platforms.
Or, choose both if you need to migrate between database platforms and need to migrate other
files, folders, and application data.
