For more information, please visit www.powernext.com Missions Based in Paris the market surveillance and data analyst will be part of the surveillance and market data analysis team. The analyst will insure market integrity and surveillance of the members in compliance with the Exchange and European REMIT regulation. He will also support Powernext development by providing high value-added statistical analysis of the European gas market. The main tasks of the position are Produce day-to-day and ad hoc analysis of Powernext markets and members activities; Perform analysis of the wholesale gas markets in Europe; Analyze and monitor gas prices fundamentals (infrastructure, storage, weather...); Create and maintain surveillance and monitoring tools and processes; Contribute to Know Your Customers (KYC) process; Prepare and participate to meetings with financial (Autorité des Marchés Financiers) and energy regulators (Commission de Régulation de l’Energie). Competences and education: Interest in markets/exchange industry; Strong appetite for data crunching/data analysis; Analytical thinking and problem solving mentality; Team player, enthusiasm, curiosity, autonomy, thoroughness and integrity; English is compulsory; working knowledge of French level is needed. German would be a plus; Excellent expertise in Excel and VBA Writing and oral presentation skills; Master degree level from engineering/business school or University; work experience can potentially substitute educational credentials; 1-2 years of experience May 2015 1 Experience in energy/commodity trading, compliance, data analysis would be a plus.
