Evaluation Process: 2015 CNAM Student Symposium
The following criteria are intended to serve as an evaluation guideline for the student posters that will
be presented at the 2nd Annual CNAM Student Research Symposium. Each judge will conduct the
evaluation based on both an assessment of the poster and the subsequent interview with each
candidate.
Criteria
Weight (%)
Novelty: Is the research addressing a new problem? Is it proposing a novel solution 25%
to a known problem? Has this type of work been done before?
Practicality: Is the proposed approach practical to implement? Can it result in
tangible improvements to the status quo?

Need: Is there need for this research? Is the problem that it is solving important to
the asset management community?
20%
Candidate Abilities: How well does the candidate understand his/her area of
research? How well were they able to defend their work? How well were they able
to convey and simplify their message?

Poster Quality: Clarity and organization of the poster

Poster Sessions – Tradeshow floor
Thu. May 14th 9:30 – 11:30 am
Student interviews – Tradeshow floor
Thu. May 14th 7:00 – 9:30 pm
Announcement of winners – Gala Dinner
During the interview, each candidate will be given 5 minutes to provide an overview of their work.
Judges will then conduct a 10 minute interview to evaluate each candidate.
