Below is a list of things to see and do in Washington while off your bike. Additional details and an updated list of activities
and local discounts will be available at the Washington Welcome Tent, which will be located at the CNC Check-in area.

Thursday, April 16th

Indoor camping at the Washington Civic Center and the Outdoor camping areas will be
available beginning at 3:00pm.

Grub Brothers Pub (156 W. Main Street) – Come join others as this local pub offers beer
tastings from 6-7:30pm. What’s not to like about free samples of food and beverages?

Backwater Jacks Restaurant & Bar (1052 E. Main Street) – Live Music, Free Mystery
Appetizer and $1 off draft beer at Pebble Beach (located at Backwater Jacks).
Friday, April 17th

CNC Coastal Ride Participant Check-In and Packet Pick-up - Opens at the Washington
Civic Center (110 Gladden Street, Washington, NC) from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Cycle NC Routes Open – All routes open at 9:00am. All routes begin and end at the
Waterfront Campsite at the intersection of E. Water Street and Bonner Street. Just look for the
Cycle NC Start/Finish inflatable arch. All routes will close at 5pm. Refer to your cue sheets for
detailed rest stop open and closing times.

The Washington Welcome Tent will be available at check-in to offer participants local information, directions, restaurant
recommendations, flyers, etc. Stop by and say hello.

NC Estuarium (223 E. Water Street) – River Roving boat trips at 10:30am and 1:30pm. Enjoy a relaxing ride on the Pamlico
while learning about the history and habitats of Washington. No fee for Cycle NC Coastal Ride Participants, but seating is

limited and advanced reservations are required. Children must be at least 6 years old to ride. Call 252-948-0000 for
reservations and information.

Schooner Jeanie B – It’s time to cast away and experience “the best sailing adventure this side of the Mississippi!!!”
Scheduled cruises on this 72’ Gaff Rigged Schooner will be available all weekend, including sunset cruises. Report to the
ship, located along Stewart Parkway at Dock C. Call 252-671-0080 for advanced reservations and to receive the special
Coastal Ride discount.

CNC Coastal Ride Kick Off Social (Free to all Registered Participants) – With Washington’s very own “Music in the
Streets” celebration kicking off in Downtown at 6:00pm and restaurants being crowded with locals and visitors, there’s never a
better reason to join other cyclists at the Washington Civic Center for some coastal cuisine. This FREE CNC fish, shrimp and
chicken dinner will be served from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. FREE cold beverages and great live music by Molasses Creek, a local
folk band from Ocracoke Island, will be available so you won’t want to miss out on
this great event.


Wine & Words & Gourmet on Main Street (220 W. Main Street) – Wine &
Cheese tasting from 4pm to 8pm. Stop in to sample some great wines. They also
have a great beer selection with plenty of NC microbrews to choose from.

Music In the Streets – Enjoy a wonderful evening with your friends, family, and
tent neighbor in Historic Downtown Washington. No matter what your musical taste, you will find entertainers to delight you in
this monthly musical event. From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Downtown Washington will come to life with extended shop and
restaurant hours welcoming cyclists with open arms. Tell your friends and bring your family to “Music in the Streets.” It’s a

Saturday, April 18th

Rise and shine everyone! Breakfast and hot coffee is in the air!
o Early risers, the Coffee Caboose (just .3 miles from camp) will be open at 6:30 am to offer you a hot cup ‘o joe.
o Rachel K’s Bakery (126 N. Market Street) will also be open at 6:30am and offers artisan breads and pastries.
o Lastly, the Washington Salvation Army will be offering a hot breakfast option right at the Waterfront Campsite
starting at 6:30am. This breakfast will consist of Bacon, Eggs, Grits, Coffee and Juice. Donations are appreciated so
come help support this great organization.


Washington Farmers Market – From 8am until noon, come visit the local farmers, artisans and business owners as they set
up shop along the west end of Stewart Parkway.


Gullfest Spring Festival at Beaufort Community College (5337 US Hwy 264 East) – Looking for something different?
From 9:00am to 3:00pm come enjoy food, music, arts/crafts, the kid’s zone, car show, National Guard and much more at this
local festival held at the Beaufort Community College. On top of that, there will be the Miss Gullfest Pageant at 6:00pm on the
College campus in Building 10 Multipurpose Room.
Backwater Jacks Restaurant & Bar (1052 E. Main Street) – Live Music, Free Mystery Appetizer and $1 off draft beer at
Pebble Beach (located at Backwater Jacks)..

NC Estuarium (223 E. Water Street) – The South Carolina/Virginia Border Band will be performing
at the Estuarium from 8:00pm to 10:00pm (Doors open at 7:00pm). Enjoy an evening of bluegrass
and fold favorites with the fleet-fingered. Tickets are $5 and seating is limited so get there early!

Historic Washington Ghost Walk - This local ghost walk (approx. 90 mins) meanders through the
streets of downtown Washington. Along the way hear stories of ghosts, the supernatural, murder,
mystery and loads of history. Tour begins at 8:00pm from Harding Square beside the Washington
Visitors Center (next to camp). Participants much meet 30 minutes prior to the start. Tickets are sold
onsite. No reservations needed. $10 per person.

Washington’s Turnage Theater (150 W. Main Street) – Featuring “Much Ado About Nothing” will
be presented by T.E.A.C.H. Home School Drama Club. Show starts at 7:00pm. Tickets are $5. For

Exclusively for Cycle NC Participants!! It’s Rivah Time! Here in Washington we take our
weekends very seriously. It’s all about the rivah (river), friends and good times. No stress, relaxation, music and an adult
beverage. That’s what you’ll find on the Caboose Lawn at the Washington Civic Center from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The
Washington Tourism Development Authority will host a beer garden, little nibbles and Victor Hudson performing. Bring a chair
or a blanket and experience Rivah-time for yourself.
Sunday, April 19th


5K Gull Run in Bath – Not feeling like riding today? Then head to Historic Bath for the 5k Gull Run at 2pm. For details on
registration and the course, contact Lynn Wingate at 252-948-9415 or just stop by the Washington Welcome tent.
We hope you enjoy the 2015 Cycle NC Coastal Ride and we hope to see you on the weekend of August 1&2 at our
2nd annual Cycle NC Mountain Ride in Lake Lure and at our 17th annual Cycle NC “Mountains to Coast” bicycle
