Coastal Sediments 2015 (CS15) will be held in San Diego, California, with the theme of “Understanding and Working with Nature.” Approximately 300 coastal engineers and scientists attended Coastal Sediments 2011 in Miami from 22 countries, with more than 63% of the papers from the international community. The Coastal Sediments Proceedings, published by World Scientific, are peer-reviewed and highly impacting the coastal science and engineering community as tracked on Google Scholar. CS15 is the 8th Conference in the Coastal Sediments Series, which began in 1977. Speakers and full papers are selected from abstracts submitted for a variety of topics, as listed on the conference website ( http://coastalsediments.cas.usf.edu/index.html ). Proposals for special topic sessions are welcome. Optional Short Courses will be offered in full-and half-day formats on May 11, 2015. Short course topics tentatively include Sediment Dynamics, Approaches to Coastal Hazard and Vulnerability Assessments, and Regional Sediment Management. Optional Technical Tours will be offered in full-and half-day formats on May 15, 2015. Two halfday excursions will be offered south from Point Loma to Imperial Beach, and north to Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
