WELCOME to SEASON 2015
As you are probably aware trials are now drawing to a close. Over the coming weeks
teams will commence training with their coaches preparing for the 1st game of the season
on, Saturday the 2nd of May. We would like to welcome all of our new players who are
playing with Cockburn for the 1st time. We hope that all of our teams have a great
season!

We would like to make special mention to the umpires who volunteered to umpire at each trial, without them the
scheduled match play would not have run smoothly. Also thank you to the mum’s, committee members, players,
junior girls and coaches who helped with Junior Training, in particular helping with our babies training sessions
and warming up the juniors before trials. We thank you for volunteering your time over the past 3 to 4 weeks - the
club greatly appreciates your assistance.

PLAYING FEES
Friendly reminders that unless you have organised a payment plan with the Club
Treasurer all fees are now due. Players are required to be fully financial no later than
the 20th of April. Karen is available before or after training or can be contacted on
0417 974 643 Please find enclosed on Page 3 the itemised fee structure for 2015.
TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS
NO JUNIOR TRAINING has been scheduled for the week of Announcements.
Junior Announcements; individual snacks and juice boxes will be issued to each
player. If you or your child has special dietary requirements, please notify the
Secretary so that alternative arrangements can be made. Announcements will be
held down on the courts or grassed area at Baker’s Square.

FEES for SEASON 2015
At least the 1st instalment of fees MUST BE PAID upon registration for each playing member. Fees are to
be PAID IN FULL, by the 20th April. If for any reason you will be unable to pay the full amount by the 20th

(Payment plans can be arranged).
Please note: Players who are not financial with the club by the 20th April will be ineligible to play further
games until fees have been finalised. This will be enforced due to the fact that unless full fees have been
paid players are not covered by FNA’s Insurance Policy. A late fee will also apply.

PAYMENTS to the CLUB
This season you will only be able to register and make payments online via Sporting Pulse. This
year the Club will no longer accept cash payments and will only accept the following payment
methods:

NET SET GO PROGRAM
Formally known as our Training Only program, the Club has changed its program for 2015. The
Club will be running the 15 week Netball Australia Net Set Go Program. This program is suited to
girls turning 7 years in 2015, Year of Birth 2008.
Participants will receive a 15 week training program and Net Set Go Pack for participation. The
sessions are limited to a maximum of 20 players, we encourage interested participants to register
now to avoid missing a placement. Sessions will run each Wednesday from 4.15 to 5pm
commencing on Wednesday the 6th of May and conclude on Wednesday the 26th of August. For

As of 2008 all volunteers working with children under the age of 18 years will be required by law, to
obtain a working with children check. Over the coming weeks, working with children forms will be
available from the clubrooms for collection. If you intend to coach or manage a team for this
season you will be required to obtain your Working with Children Check before you can commence
working with the children associated with the Cockburn Netball Club Inc. If you already have a
WWC please provide NIKKI GREEN with a copy of your form, ensuring you are exempt from
obtaining a clearance this season
Do I qualify for an exemption?
If any of the following apply to you then you may not need a WWC Check. Are you:
• A volunteer under 18 years?
• A parent volunteering in certain activities where your child is also involved?
• An employer of children, or working alongside fellow workers who are children and who is not
doing any other type of child-related work?
• A person supervising volunteers who are children?
• A short term visitor to Western Australia?
What is the cost and how do I pay? Volunteer/Unpaid $10.00
Payment is made at the time of lodging your application at a participating Australia Post outlet.
Payment can be made by EFTPOS, Mastercard, Visa or cash. Cheques will not be accepted.
When you lodge your application you ask for a duplicate receipt and the club will reimburse you the
cost incurred for your application. Refunds will only be given on the proof of receipt.

WHAT’s NOT?
Parking on the Footpath
Please remember cars are not permitted to
park on the footpaths. Please park on the
grassed areas or on the road verge. Parking
Tickets will be issued by the Council Ranger.
Not Returning Equipment
If you have not returned your equipment for
last season, please return it ASAP. Ian is
currently preparing our stock for this season
and we still have teams who have failed to
return equipment.
This costs the Club money as the items need
to be replaced which could potentially
increase fees for the following season.

JUNIOR GRADING for SEASON 2015
There have been numerous requests for girls to play out of their own age groups for season
2015. The following information contains the guidelines of the grading procedures used by the
Fremantle Netball Association for the winter competition. These guidelines are also stipulated and
endorsed by Netball WA.
 Teams are graded by age base (not size) and clubs are requested to keep players of the same
age together. Grades are based on the age you turn in 2015,
JUNIOR A GRADE – Turning 15 years in the calendar year / born in 2000
JUNIOR B GRADE – Turning 14 years in the calendar year / born in 2001
JUNIOR C GRADE – Turning 13 years in the calendar year / born in 2002
JUNIOR D GRADE – Turning 12 years in the calendar year / born in 2003
JUNIOR E GRADE – Turning 11 years in the calendar year / born in 2004
JUNIOR F GRADE – Turning 10 years in the calendar year / born in 2005
JUNIOR G GRADE – Turning 9 years in the calendar year / born in 2006
JUNIOR H GRADE – Turning 8 years in the calendar year / born in 2007
 Ability,
 If age groups are mixed the team is graded into the bottom grade of the oldest child. E.g. if you
were to have a team of 15 and 14 years old in one team, the team would be placed in the bottom
of grade.
Based on the information above, in most occasions girls will be required to play in their own age
group; this is the age group in which they turn for season 2015.

WANTED COACHES for 2015
We are seeking interest from any parents or players who are interested in coaching for season
2015. Girls turning 14years or older this season are encouraged to apply to become an
apprentice coach; you will assist a Senior Coach with coaching a junior team. Parents who are
interested in coaching their daughter’s team are also encouraged to register their interest. If
you would like to coach this season please speak to Nikki Green our Junior Coaching

will also be offered through out the season upon request from coaches.
