Please note: All Mondial patterns have been directly translated from
the Italian originals and are provided solely as a guideline for using
these yarns. All needle sizes are European and the instructions
include notations different from their English equivalents. Please
review the pattern BEFORE starting the project.

Stitches: Tubular Stitch. Stocking Stitch. Rib 1/1. Moved Rib 2/1 (see below.) Fur Stitch
(see next page.)
Tension: 10 x 10 cms. = 13 sts. and 17 r. in stocking st. using size 6.5 knitting needles
and both threads tog.
PATTERN
Back: using size 5.5 knitting needles and both threads tog. cast 61 (65-69-73) sts. and work 4 r. in tubular st. and
2 r. rib 1/1. Cont. in fur st. like above instructions. At 20 cms. cont. in stocking st. using size 6.5 knitting needles
and both threads tog. and decr., on both edges, 1 st. (5 sts. from ea edge) every 10 r. for 4 times. At 52 (54-56-58)
cms. for the armholes shaping, at both edges, bind off 3 sts. every 2 r. once and 1 st. once. When piece measures
70 (73-76-79) cms. bind off all sts.
Right Front: using size 5.5 knitting needles and both threads tog. cast on 35 (38-40-42) sts. and work 4 r. in tubular
st. and 2 r. rib 1/1. Using both threads tog. cont. working first 3 sts. in tubular st., 1 st. in rev. stocking st. and rem.
sts. in fur st. At 20 cms. cont. in stocking st. using size 6.5 knitting needles and both threads tog.; at beg. of r.
always work 3 sts. in tubular st. and p1 and, on the left, decr. 1 st. (5 sts from edge) every 10 r. for 4 times. At the
same time, at 23, 39 and 55 cms. shape one buttonhole as foll.: 5 sts. from edge bind off 3 sts. and in the next r.
cast on 3 new sts. At 52 (54-56-58) cms. shape the armhole as foll.: on the left bind off, every 2 r., 3 sts. once and
1 st. once. At 60 (63-66-69) cms. for the neckline shaping, on the right bind off, every 2 r., 8 sts. once, 3 sts. once,
2 sts. once (twice- twice - twice) and 1 st. for 4 (4-5-6) times. When piece measures 70 (73-76-79) cms. bind off all
rem. sts. for shoulder.
Left Front: work as given for right front, reversing all shaping and without the buttonholes.
Sleeve: using size 5.5 knitting needles and both threads tog. cast on 41 (44-47-49) sts. and work 4 r. in tubular st.
24 r. moved rib 2/1. At 15 cms. cont. in stocking st. using size 6.5 knitting needles, decr. 11 sts. during 1^ r. and
incr. on both edges 1 st. every 6 r. for 6 times. At 48 (50-52-54) cms. for the armholes shaping, on both edges, bind
off 3 sts. and cont. decr. 1 st. (2 sts. from ea edge) every 2 r. for 7 (8-10-11) times. When piece measures 58
(61-64-67) cms. bind off all sts.
Make second sleeve as given for first one.
FINISHING
Sew the shoulders. Assemble the sleeves, sew the sleeve and side seams.
Collar: using size 5.5 knitting needles pick-up 88 (95-100-104) sts. along the front and back neckline and on both
sides work 3 sts. in tubular st., p1 (3 sts. from edge) and the rem. sts. in moved rib 2/1. At 8 cms. work 4 r. in tubular
st. and then bind off sts. using the wool round needle. Sew the buttons on the left front.

Central Piece: using size 5,5 knitting needles and 882 yarn, cast on 33 sts. and work 6 r. in tubular st. using both
threads tog. Cont. in fur st. like above instructions. When piece measures 85 cms. work 6 r. in tubular st. using both
threads tog. and then bind off all sts. using wool round needle.
Side Piece: using size 5,5 knitting needles and 888 yarn, cast on 8 sts. and work 6 r. in tubular st. using both
threads tog. Cont. in stocking st. and when piece measures 85 cms. work 6 r. in tubular st. Bind off all sts. using
wool round needle. Make second strip as given for this one.
Side: using size 5,5 knitting needles and 888 yarn, cast on 28 sts. and work in stocking st. using both threads tog.
When piece measures 25 cms. bind off all sts.
Make second side as given for first one.
FINISHING
Sew side pieces and central piece tog. Sew side seams. Line, sew the zip-fastener on the opening and assemble the
handles.round needle. Sew the buttons on the left front.
FUR STITCH USING NEVE YARN
Neve yarn consists of one fine thread and one thick thread joined together in order to form some loops (Fig.1). You can
knit two threads together, like a standard yarn, or you can insert the knitting needle in the loops of fine thread, like
showed below; in this case you’ll obtain the fur effect. Cast on the required sts. (using both threads tog.); 1^ r. (wrong
side): using size 5.5 knitting needles, in ea base st., work k1 (Fig.2) and k1 through the back loop (Fig.3), using the fine
thread arch (obtained sts. will be double of base sts.- Fig.4); 2^ r.: using both threads tog. work p2tog (Fig.5) for the
entire r. (obtained sts. = base sts.); always rep. first and second r.
