Comments from Carolyn:
Let them do their jobs: I was recently told about members in the gym telling the air
conditioning technician that he could not do his job while they were playing a game,
having a class, or whatever they were doing and he would have to stop working until
they finished. And another time - when repairs were being made in the kitchen, a class
member left the class to tell them they were too loud and then shut the door.
Really folks? The air conditioning technician charges $75 an hour plus trip
reimbursement and the workers in the kitchen were repairing the sink drains so we
could continue using the kitchen. I am sorry for the inconvenience these repairs are
causing some of you, but repairs must be made or soon we will not have a usable
building. Please give them time to do their jobs when they can do them. We are not the
only game in town and if they cannot complete the job while here, then we may get
moved to the end of the jobs list. Then you will really have something to complain about.

Don’t miss out on these products you are paying for anyway in your
electric bill. I ordered and received the Ohio Energy Kit and am very happy
with the contents. It is the best power strip/surge protector I have seen.
You will receive 9 CFL’s (compact florescent light bulbs), two LED nightlights,
one furnace whistle and one power strip/surge protector. So far is seems only
about 3% of us have requested this kit we are all paying for.
Call 887-639-0218 to receive yours. You will need your customer account
number. It will take about 6 weeks before you receive it, but it is worth the
wait and like I have already mentioned, you have paid for it.

an upscale sale when you choose which articles to bring. Please be considerate of others who want to be a
part of a more up-scale sale. Thank you. The emphasis is on the word “special” and it’s expected that
participants will pick items of higher quality than found in a more ordinary sale such as the garage,
rummage or flea market. If you’re uncertain if what you would bring will measure up to the special
category the Center requests, please ask the secretaries in the Info Center, Amy or Barbara.

becomes ill and you have to cancel or leave the trip early. Most Trip Insurance covers only if you or a family
member have a Medical Emergency that causes you to cancel or interrupt the trip. Inquiring about insurance is
your responsibility to follow through on, not volunteer secretaries or staff. Many trips do not include insurance,
but it is highly recommended and applications are available in the Info. Center. Please ask Amy or Carolyn in the
office, read the application form in its entirety or call the insurance co. or more info.
The 3rd Wednesday of the month: 9AM-3PM RESIDENTS may sign-up for the new programs – WALK IN
ONLY. Resident members may sign-up for self and one other resident member (example: husband & wife).
Numbers are put out on the table at 8am for the 9am sign up start.
The Following day: 9AM-3PM OPENED TO ALL registered members, mailed-in and called in registrations will
be added at the end of day if space is available.
WALK-in Registration: 9am – 3pm
Payment: Cash, Credit Card or Checks payable to Willoughby Senior Center *The exceptions are: Red Hat
Events, Center Membership, Board Fundraisers and Commercial Trips which require separate checks as they
are separate from all other programs. Small bills appreciated.
Refunds & Procedures:
All fees must be paid at time of registration
No registration is accepted by the instructor
Some class sizes are limited
Enrollment is based on first come, first served
Partial refunds after 1st class
No refunds after 2nd class
No confirmation reminders will be sent for any class
$5 processing fee for ALL check refunds
There will be a $35 fee for all returned checks
A class may be cancelled due to low enrollment
Missed classes are not refundable or eligible to be made up
All refunds under $15 will be credited to your account
CREDIT MY ACCOUNT: If you need to cancel and there is no one on Stand-by: We can add the refund to your
account or issue a check. However, there is a $5 processing fee to issue a check. Having the refund credited to
your account is the best way to handle it, as there is no fee to you and you can use the credit for anything except
membership renewal, Fund Raisers and Red Hat Events. So just say “Credit My Account.”
REFUND: If you must cancel a trip, all possible attempts at a refund will be made. You may not sell or give your
reservation to someone else until we have contacted those on the Stand-by List. You must let us know if you
need to cancel; if you do not show-up for an event you will not be issued a refund or a credit.
For classes and meals we prepare we need cancellations 3 days prior to the event. For ticketed events we need
cancellation information as posted in the newsletter in order to refund or credit your payment. Once we have
purchased the supplies for a meal, trip or a class, there will not be a refund unless we can get it back from the
vendor. If you have question regarding refunds see Carolyn or Amy.
