I'm on a big washcloth kick right now-- they can be finished in one or two evenings and are
simple enough to knit while watching a movie. My goal is to have a supply on hand for
birthdays and special occasions throughout the year. They make nice gifts when you fold
one or two in to a small basket and include a bar of scented soap.

You lost me at knit:) I don't know how to do this but I have never tried. My niece gave
me a red one for Christmas and I love it. She is really good at it. Love your pretty
washcloths, you are so talented. Perhaps someday you can teach me how to do this:)

They're very pretty, Stacy. How can you possibly use them for practical purposes when
they're that cute?
Thanks for sharing the patterns.

Stacy, these washclothes are the best gift EVER !
My firend gives me one just about every Christmas - if I didn't get one i'd be very
disappointed.
This year she went wild with color. Guess I'd better get and pic and post it for all to
see.
Don't ya know I'll be coping your patterns. 'cause, don't cha know I do a bit of knitting
myself. Other than 2-at-time sox.

I had googled knitted dishcloth and here I am.
Am going to teach a friend to knit and want something simple and so satisfying.
I like the middle pattern for her first
= I think she'll be happy with this project.
Thanks

I'm going to use the middle pattern to teach a friend to knit.
This pattern should be very satisfying for her first project.
Thanks

I just tried knitting the fan and feather washcloth and the way the patern reads one
decreases more and more every row, so your left with a triangle instead of a square!
Did I read it wrong?

Hi Laura, you shouldn't end up with a triangle but that actually sounds like an
interesting pattern. On the decrease row repeats, you are:
Niesz Vintage Home...and
fabric
-Knitting two together a total of four times, which decreases your stitches by four.
-Doing a yarn over and then a knit one four times, increases the stitches back to the
original number.
Sorry if you found the pattern hard to read. If you have a suggestion for making that
clearer, please let me know.

Oh, I see now! Yes, (YO, K1) 4 times could be a way to group them.
I read it as YO, then K4 :P
Thanks for the clarification!

Easy washcloth knitting patterns
These are GREAT patterns. I am making several, then sewing them together to make a
unique poncho!
Such pretty patterns, and so easy to do with super large needles. (19's).
Glad I checked these out, and learned to knit out of the box!
Who would have thought I could make a poncho out of dish cloths?
