Materials
• Pierrot Yarns Lamb Baby [100% wool; 131 yds / 120m per 1.41 oz./
40g skein]; color #2702 pink; 4 skeins [150g] – discontinued; please
choose appropriate substitute.
• 3.3mm (US 3) and 3.6mm (US 4 or 5) knitting needles or sizes
necessary to achieve gauge
• 3.0mm (US C or D) crochet hook or size necessary to achieve
gauge
• 6 buttons (15mm / approx. 5/8" diameter)
Gauge
• pattern stitch: 28 sts and 31 rows = 10cm/4" square
Finished measurements
• cape length 31.5cm/12.4"
• width at hem 94cm/37.0"
• hood length 23cm/9.1"
Knitting Tips
Body: Starting from the neckline, cast on 87 stitches and knit in k1p1 ribbing for 10 rows according
to schematics. Then begin working evenly distributed increases in k1p1 ribbing and stockinette;
continue knitting stockinette after increases are complete. Knit 4 rows of garter stitch, then bind off
in pattern from right side. Crochet edging at neckline. Crochet cord according to schematics and
thread through cape.
Hood: Using provisional cast on, cast on 87 stitches. Knit in stockinette stitch according to
schematics. Fold hood in half lengthwise and graft with Kitchener stitch. Sew tucks as shown. Pick
up 71 stitches from provisional cast-on edge of collar; knit in k1p1 ribbing and bind off in pattern.
Attach buttons where indicated.
