LEARNERS FROM NORTH FORT MYERS HIGH SCHOOL ACHIEVE
TOP RESULTS IN OUTSTANDING CAMBRIDGE LEARNER
AWARDS
Fifty-three students from North Fort Myers High School have received prestigious
awards from Cambridge International Examinations to acknowledge their outstanding
performance in the June 2014 Cambridge examination series. Cambridge International
Examinations is the world’s largest provider of international education programs and
qualifications for 5 to 19 year olds. The organization is part of the University of Cambridge,
one of the world’s top universities and trusted for excellence in education.
The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards program celebrates the success of learners
taking Cambridge examinations in over 40 countries around the world. Cambridge places
learners at the center of their international education programs and qualifications which
are inspired by the best in educational thinking.
The following students from North Fort Myers High School received Outstanding
Cambridge Learner Awards:
2014 graduate Rebecca Ryder gained the highest mark in the USA for Cambridge
International AS Level Literature in English.
Senior Andrew Salyer was awarded the Cambridge Scholar Award with Distinction for
achieving a score of A or higher on three different examinations during the June 2014
Cambridge examination series.
Seventeen additional students received the Cambridge Scholar Award with Merit for
achieving a score of B or higher on three different examinations during the June 2014
Cambridge examination series, and 34 students received the Cambridge Scholar Award
for achieving a score of C or higher on three different examinations during the June 2014
Cambridge examinations series.
Principal Matthew Mederios believes that the awards recognized the talent, dedication
and commitment of both learners and staff. He shared, “These results are indicative of
the passion and purpose that our teachers and students exude in regards to teaching and
learning.”
