April 2015Community Roundup
Community
announcements
 The RBR pool opens for the season April 11
without lifeguards present. Please become
familiar with the pool rules so we can have
a safe and fun pool season.
 The Spring Fling and BBQ cook-off is April
12 at the pool house. Please email
[email protected] for more information
or to volunteer to help.
 Reminder: Quarterly homeowner
assessments are due the first of January,
April, July and October and are $109.97 a
quarter. Have questions or concerns about
assessments? Reach out to Associa-Hill
Country at [email protected].
 Your Redbird Ranch homeowner’s
association board recently made the
decision to remove the doors leading to the
tennis and basketball courts in an effort to
greatly reduce vandalism to the courts. The
cost of constantly replacing the doors or
repairing the fences in and around the area
was a drain on your HOA dollars. We’re
hoping that the ease of access will prohibit
vandalism. Since the courts are now open,
we’ve asked for increased patrols in the

area to check that only residents and their
valid guests are utilizing them.
We’re getting closer to having a xeriscaping
policy for the neighborhood. Xeriscaping
allows our homeowners association and
homeowners to have attractive yards
without large watering bills. Look for more
information soon on the policy. Please note
approval is needed prior to beginning
xeriscape projects.
Redbird Ranch continues to grow … we’re
now at about 1,200 homes. Please be
careful when driving in the neighborhood
and when exiting or entering Redbird
Ranch. Also, with the warmer weather,
children are outside more so please keep an
eye out for them on neighborhood streets.
With the opening of the gas station and
stores across from Redbird Ranch, some
people are choosing to walk to the stores.
Please be careful crossing Potranco and talk
to your children about the dangers
associated with crossing such a busy road.
The HOA – Associa-Hill Country website is

 The next quarterly homeowner’s
association board meeting is May 28.
 Your resident board members are Helen
Costa-Giles and Deborah Aragon and they
can be reached at [email protected] or
[email protected] respectively.
The remaining three board positions are
held by DR Horton until the neighborhood is
further developed.
 Stay connected with your Redbird Ranch
neighbors through
www.facebook/groups/RBRneighbors/. You
can also communicate with neighbors
privately and receive Bexar County Sheriff’s
Office alerts through
www.rbr.nextdoor.com.
 A successful community relies heavily on
neighbor volunteers. We’re looking for
volunteers to serve on our Redbird Ranch
Safety, Pool, Social, Communication and
Landscape committees. Help make RBR the
best it can be by volunteering. Email
[email protected] to find out more.
Pictures from a recent RBR Spring Fling event. Events
like this don’t happen without volunteers from our
community.
 Did you know Redbird Ranch has an active
Citizen on Patrol program through the
Bexar County Sheriff’s Office? Volunteers,
led by Sherri Ann Trapp-Coots, are the eyes
and ears of the neighborhood to help keep
everyone safe. Volunteer to be on the RBR
COP by emailing [email protected].
Even if you’re not interested in being a COP
member, report suspicious activity to the
BCSO or Medina County Sheriff’s Office
(depending on activity location) by calling
the non-emergency number (210) 335-6000
or (830)741-6150 respectively.
