The first time knitter will begin their kntting journey with the long tail cast on, knit stitch,
purl stitch, correcting some mistakes, weaving in ends and binding off. You will learn to
develop consistant stitches and a comfort level before moving on to a wonderful world of
knitting with other techniques and fibers.
The custom designed scarf has been created with the novice in mind, but will result in a
warm fashion forward scarf you will want to wear this winter . You will also receive a
bonus pattern for a Beehive Hat to go along with your scarf.

Oct 14 – Maggie Jackson Stitches.
• Looked at the kits and thought…what’s a tube? Do what?
We will take a walk down Maggie lane and you will various stitches that are purely
Maggie. You may then consider making the Trellis Tweed Caplet, it looks great on
everyone.
Oct 21 – Knit a Beaded Bracelet
• Kits include EVERYTHING you will need to produce a cute little bracelet that you
may want to make as gifts for friends and family.

Oct 28 – Felted Crochet Trivit
• Made these for the Fossil Hottie Tour to Portland this year. The trivit is created
by crochet stitches in the round. ( need to know basic crochet stitches for this
classThe piece is then felted. I will discuss technique for felting and I will
demonstrate needle felting over the felted trivit. Very cool gift for the holidays.
Nov 4 – Mattress stitch and other fun finishing techniques
• Hate finishing, yes I know, I have heard you all say that. Finishing is really not so
bad. We will learn to seam with ease! You will need to make some swatches
ahead of time. 4x4 (2) in garter, (2) in Stst.
Leave the Stst swatches on needle or holder and we will do a three needle bind
off for shoulder seams.
Nov 11 – Continental All the Way
• You already know how to knit and purl but you “throw” your yarn and you heard
the continental knitting is faster! I’ll show yo uhow and you decide. Bring in some
yarn and needles and I will let you be the judge.
Nov 18 – “I’ve fallen and I cant pick it up!”
• Loose yarn, dropped stitches, twisted stitches, I purled and I was suppose to knit
and visa versa. Working backwards to the booboo.
Whatever it is, you will learn to correct it.
