new year - 2010 marks the 25th year in business! We’ll be
celebrating SEW BIG with great promotions, fun events,
new products, exciting new classes, and opportunities to
share with and benefit the community with sewing and
knitting activities.

We are continuing Friday DIY (Do it yourself) workshops
from 1 - 6 PM on Fridays. Come in to use our classroom for
your sewing or quilting projects.
New from the Knitting Nook are several items. Doll patterns
to knit for your special 18” dolls. Knit and crochet patterns
for the itty-bitty babies. Lamb’s Pride worsted and bulky
yarns now come in variegated colors. Trabajos Del Peru now
offer exciting choices in this beautiful 100% wool bulky
weight yarn. Knit One Crochet Too has “Ty-Dy” yarn in
cotton as well as the washable 100% wool.
Hiya Hiya has wonderful sets of interchangeable needles
available in size 2 - 8 and coming soon, sets from 9 - 15
needle sizes!

Stained Glass Wall Quilt (Darlene)

session we’ll work on cutting up the shirts. In the second
session we will make the blocks for the quilt and learn how
to put it all together.

Use two fat quarters and fun easy-to-use grommets to make
a simple bag with inside pockets!
Paper Pieced Hotpads (Darlene)

Heirloom Pillowcase Doll (Katie)

Convert your heirloom pillowcase into an elegant doll, worthy of display.
Don’t have an heirloom pillowcase? You can use cotton batiste instead. Learn
heirloom sewing techniques, including pin tucks, lace insertion, lace shaping

technique. This piecing method allows you to complete the
quilting as you assemble each block. Sew the blocks together
and you’re done!

Dress up an infant’s onesie with colorful fabric - add a skirt to

Intro to Cotton Theory (Terri)

Construct a reversible kitchen trivet using the Cotton Theory™ quilting method.
Cotton theory projects are quilted first, and then assembled, using Betty

Sideways Rainbow Jacket (Carolyn)

This jacket is knit sideways from sleeve to sleeve. Sleeves are knit in stockinette
stitch. Seed stitches add interest to the body of the sweater. Basic knitting skills

We will focus on finer techniques in finishing knitted projects. Learn and
practice the finishing stitch that seams your knitted toes together as well as
