1 session with Karen Munger
Saturday, October 4th, 9:30am - 3:30pm #100245482
Cost $35.00
What makes this tote different from the rest? Straps that
extend to the firm base, quilted sides and handy pockets
give it form & function!
While maintaining a level of softness attained only by fabric,
the use of a thicker fabric and the addition of Peltex on the
base makes this tote hold its shape. In addition, having the
straps connect to the base gives it more strength to carry
your contents. Other details include a pocket tucked
between the straps, a great place for use of an accent color or a fabric that’s been saved for just the
right use. Optional interior pockets are easy to add also. You’ll find yourself choosing this tote to use

Two Sided Binding Techniques
- a beginner II level class –
1 session with Willie Ruth Smith
Tuesday, September 30, 10:00am - 12:00pm #100245465
Cost $35.00
Usually when you bind a quilt you use the same color of
fabric on the front and the back of the quilt and the binding
doesn’t always look great with the back. It doesn’t need to
be that way. With a little extra work you can create a
binding that uses one fabric on front and a different fabric
on the back or two fabrics (flange or piping) on front and a
different fabric on back. A neat technique for a two colored
binding.
Students: Must know how to make a standard binding before taking this class.
Bias Binding
- for all skill levels –
1 session with Gigi McEver
Friday, November 14, 9:00am - 1:00pm #100245506
Cost $12.00
At some point in your quilting career you’re likely to need a bias binding. A bias stripe can make a
dramatic finish to a quilt, and a bias binding is really a necessity for a curved edge. In this class
we’ll learn how to make a continuous bias binding. We’ll briefly cover cutting bias strips, but the
emphasis will be on the continuous binding. It’s a fun technique! Once you get the hang of it, you
may actually look forward to making your next one! Hope to see you in class!
Beginning Hand Piecing, or Just Your Basic Pillow
- a beginner level class –
1 session with Gigi McEver

straight seams, and to match points. No bias work is involved.
This is a good way to get the feel of hand piecing. You will make
an 18” pillow top and leave with instructions for how to attach the
pillow back.
You need to know how to use a needle & thread. See me before
class if you need help.

What’s the first part of a much-used quilt to wear out? The
binding, of course! While hand finished bindings are lovely
and a must for heirlooms and quilt shows, they aren’t really
practical for utility quilts and quilts for kids. I can bind a
queen size quilt in about 2 hours and so can you. Come
learn my techniques and soon you’ll have professional
looking and durable bindings in a fraction of the time it
takes to hand stitch one. This class is the perfect follow up
to Basic Quiltmaking.
