A quilt is defined as three [3] layers of fabric held together at
regular intervals by stitching or some other means.
Quilts MUST be supplied with a rod [named] and a rod
pocket or 2.5 cm tape loops, suitable for hanging. Temporary
loops MUST NOT be attached by safety pins.
Any identifying names must be covered.
Quilts must not be framed in wood, metal etc.
Your entry MUST have the judging form attached [one for
each quilt]. No judging form will mean your quilt will not be
eligible for judging.
Any number of quilts may be entered.
Quilts must be clean and in good order and condition
A PROFESSIONAL QUILTER is defined as someone who
teaches, publishes and participates in the making of quilts for
financial gain or has won Grand Champion Quilt at the
Brookfield Show or 2 First Prize ribbons in any major judged
competition. Having exhibited as a professional, amateur
status cannot be resumed.
Commercial Quilting is defined as where payment has been
made and the quilter’s name/company MUST be recorded on
the quilt judging form at the time of entry.

The Quilt Challenge for 2014 is a theme of red and white.
The quilt should meet the following requirements:
1. Fabrics used must be red or white only in any pattern
or design
2. Quilt must be a maximum size 3 meter perimeter
(eg 75x75cm)
3. Quilt can be machine or hand finished
4. All other requirements for quilt entries must be met

the Brookfield Showground Hall on Saturday May 10 between 9am and
11am or 2pm and 4pm.
♦ If you wish to sell your work, please note this on the Entry Form. A 10%
commission will be charged.

♦ Entries may also be delivered or posted until May 9 to Dianne Fullelove at 2
Coburn Crt, Brookfield 4069. Entries forwarded by post are to be securely
packed and addressed and must include return postage and packaging. If you
are delivering your entry, YOU MUST TELEPHONE FIRST TO ARRANGE A
SUITABLE TIME TO DROP OFF.

♦ ENTRIES CLOSE AT 4PM ON SATURDAY MAY 10 , 2013 AND NO LATE
ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED
♦ All entrants MUST be 15 years or over in the year of the Show.
♦ The entry fee will be $5 (including GST) per item, except Section 5, where the
entry fee will be $2 (including GST) per item. Cheques are to be made payable
to Brookfield Show Society Incorporated.
♦ Entries are to be collected from the Brookfield Showground Hall (on

presentation of receipt) on MONDAY, MAY 19 between 9am and 11am OR
5pm and 7pm OR by prior arrangement with the Stewards ONLY. No entries

can be collected on 18 May.
♦ All entries must be the bona fide work of the entrant and must not have been
entered in any previous Brookfield Show. Soiled work will not be accepted.
Only new work will be judged and entries must have been completed within the
last two (2) years.
♦ All framed entries must be complete with a hanging wire.
♦ All quilts must have a rod pocket or 2.5cm tape loops attached for hanging and
include a named rod [un-named rods and bags will not be returned].
♦ Any identifying names must be covered.
♦ The Stewards have the right to place entries into their correct class if they are
considered to be entered into the wrong class, and reserves the right to declare
NO COMPETITION in any class where there are less than three (3) entries.
Prizes may also not be awarded in this instance. The Stewards reserve the
right to alter prize allocation in all classes. The judge’s decision is final and no
correspondence will be entered into.
♦ Prizes must be taken as received and MUST NOT BE EXCHANGED IN
ANY WAY. Prizes are NOT redeemable in cash.
♦ The officials of the Brookfield Show Society Incorporated will exercise all due
care, but will not be responsible for the loss OR the damage to entries, whilst in
their custody. Security officers patrol the grounds at all times during the
duration of the Show and security arrangements are in place during the week
leading up to the show.
