Michigan based quintet La Dispute have announced that they will release their third full-length, titled Rooms of the House, on March 18, 2014 via their
newly established label, Better Living, in partnership with Staple Records. Born with a greater intention than to simply release La Dispute’s own records,
the band explains their new label as “an outlet for creative expression, and as a way for both themselves and other artists to work together and give back
to their respective communities. The label will operate in multiple forms of media; incorporating written, musical, and visual content, hoping to encourage
collaboration between a variety of artists who are looking to impact their communities by supporting structures and organizations which are already
making significant positive changes.”
Rooms of the House was recorded and mixed by Will Yip at Studio 4 in Philadelphia, produced by Yip and La Dispute, and mastered at The Lodge by
Emily Lazar. To write for the new release, La Dispute retreated to an isolated cabin in Michigan’s upper peninsula with the hope that working together in a
different environment would take them out of their comfort zone and enable them to create their strongest record yet. “The area where we were was pretty
remote so we could focus on playing and not much else,” bassist Adam Vass explains. “It was just the five of us working on writing every single day for a
month and pretty much the entire album came out of those sessions.”
To support the release of Rooms of the House, the band have announced a full North American tour that starts in March 2014, with dates throughout the
rest of the world to follow (all tour dates below). Joining La Dispute on this first round of dates will be friends Pianos Become the Teeth and Mansions.

“That was the first time I’d experienced what Christ could look like in the culture of hip-hop. Church had never looked like that to me,” he shares. “I was on
tour and had a conversation with Verbs, who shared the Gospel. It was like a weight was being lifted off of me. God was speaking through him. I know lots
of people have lots of different experiences, but this was mine, and it will be tattooed on my heart forever. That is the heart of the album title and title
track, A Night to Remember.”
From the first contagious beats to the last vibrations of a perfectly placed note, the record is not only Shonlock’s own journey to grace; it’s everyone’s
journey. “We all start somewhere. But we all eventually get to a point of saying, ‘Okay, God. I’m tired. I can’t do it on my own.’ That is the heartbeat of the
album…showing that we all go through the same highs and lows.”
That sentiment laid the groundwork for the follow up to Shonlock’s #1 CHR smash hit, “Something In Your Eyes,” with “We Walk on Water.” “I wrote this
song for a friend who was going through a hard time,” Shonlock shares. “I wanted to remind him that he wasn’t alone. God had not forgotten him.
Everyone has tear ducts. Rich, poor, high, low. We all experience pain. Most people start their journey full of fight and strength, but seem to lose hope and
steam as time goes on. I want to encourage them by letting them know that the shore is closer then they think. The key is to keep our eyes on God,

Felder is renowned as former lead guitarist of The Eagles, one of the most popular and influential rock groups of our time. The band’s record-setting

Born in Ethiopia, based in San Francisco for the past nine years , singer/composer/cultural activist Meklit became a sensation with the release of her
debut "On a Day Like This " in April, 2010. NPR called her sound, "a unique blend of jazz, Ethiopia, the San Francisco art scene and visceral poetry ; it
paints pictures in your head as you listen." PBS said "You'll hear hints of Billie Holliday , Tracy Chapman and Joni Mitchell in her music but Meklit is her
own unique creation." The San Francisco Chronicle called Meklit "...an artistic giant in the early stages . She is stunning."
For the past three and a half years, her frequent live shows have run the gamut, including the Monterey Jazz Festival , SXSW, Bumbershoot, SFJAZZ
Center, Baryshnikov Arts Center, Skirball Center, Southbank Centre in London as well as university residencies (NYU, UC San Diego) - and of course, an
extraordinary artist residency at the Ringling International Arts Festival in 2011. As a Senior TED Fellow, she has also performed at the TED Conference
in Long Beach, TED Global in Edinburgh, and she performed at TED Women in December 2013 in San Francisco.
Meklit's special participations cut a wide swathe. She was a guest in Pee Wee Ellis' (James Brown's longtime musical director) African tribute to James
Brown at the Hollywood Bowl, where she sang a sizzling rendition of "Cold Sweat". She is a core voice in the theme song for UN Women (along with such
notables as Anoushka Shankar , Angelique Kidjo, Rokia Traore, and Buika). She performed Beck's "The Title of This Song" at San Francisco's premier
live magazine PopUp, sharing the stage with Beck himself, as well as Devendra Banhart and more.
She continues to break down genres, whether covering indie pop-rock hits and making them her own , adapting traditional or popular Ethiopian songs , or
collaborating on a hip-hop space opera or in her own exquisite and original solo work. In any case, as SFJAZZ says "Meklit has truly established herself
as a modern queen of soul ". She has just finished recording her next album, We Are Alive, with producer Eli Crews (tUnEyArDs, Geographer, Deerhoof),
to be released in March 2014 on Six Degrees Records. She is booked by Todd Walker at the Windish Agency.
