Octopus Publishing Group launches Food and Drink Festival at London’s Southbank Centre
Today Friday 15 May 2015, Octopus Publishing Group announced it would host its inaugural Cookbook
Confidential: The Food & Drink Festival at London’s Southbank Centre. Taking place throughout the day
on Saturday 5 September, the festival will feature discussions, classes, demonstrations and tastings with
food and drink authors from Octopus’s stellar list.
Authors already confirmed to appear at the festival include Jane Baxter, Dan Doherty, Gizzi Erskine,
Eleonora Galasso, Sabrina Ghayour, Joel Harrison & Neil Ridley, Diana Henry, Olia Hercules, Chris Honor,
Ella’s Kitchen, Eric Lanlard, Chetna Makan, Anjali Pathak, Marco Pierre White, Kay Plunkett-Hogge, Jancis
Robinson, Kara Rosen, Richard H. Turner, John Vincent, Val Warner, Andrew Wong, James Wong.
Group Publishing Director Denise Bates said, “We are thrilled to be hosting our first food and drink
festival at London’s Southbank Centre this September. The day will be an opportunity to celebrate our
wonderful authors and their work, and share them with an even wider audience.”
Foyles will be the official bookseller and partner for the festival. Foyles Marketing Manager Simon
Heafield said, “We're really excited to be involved in Cookbook Confidential. Octopus has one of the most
dynamic and original cookery lists around, and this presents a fantastic opportunity to bring readers and
gastronomes together to celebrate great food - and great food writers.”
The full programme will be announced in the coming weeks and tickets will be available from Southbank
Centre’s website and ticket office.
