On its 20th Year Anniversary, the Silver Seasons jewelry
collection, designed by Michael Michaud, is a world
renowned collection of nature jewelry. Using the lost wax
casting method the designs capture all the beauty and
exquisite detail of nature in metals, pearls and stones.
The Silver Seasons designs are easily recognizable and are featured in the
finest museums, craft galleries and specialty retailers in the world. Many
of the collections are licensed by leading museums such as The Victoria
& Albert Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Fine Arts
Boston, The National Gallery of Art, George Washington’s Mt. Vernon Ladies’
Association and the French government honoring World War I veterans.
Ongoing projects include collaboration with the 9/11 Memorial in New York.
Artist Michael Michaud studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s prestigious school for American craftsmen,
graduating in 1980. While there he studied under esteemed designers Hans Christenson and Gary Griffin mastering many
of the techniques he uses today. In 1991, fortunate enough to be living in the Connecticut countryside and working near
New York City’s flower district, Michael’s love of nature began to combine with his love of jewelry. Today’s collection is
a combination of Michael’s exceptional knowledge of jewelry making and that love of nature. He has perfected the
technique of creating models from natural elements and, after models are made, manipulating these “copies of nature”
into beautiful jewelry. Using bronze, sterling silver or gold and natural stones, hand formed glass and freshwater pearls,
Michael’s designs have become well known for their remarkable craftsmanship and beauty.
Michael was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Westport, Connecticut. He currently resides in Fairfield, CT.
“It is a true honor to be surrounded by a great group of souls who find
as much pleasure as I in manifesting nature’s beauty.”

Sand Dollars and Sea Horses
DF7033
16” Adj Contour Necklace
The name “sand dollar” is a reference to their round flat
shape, which is similar to a large coin. When they are
living, they are covered with a suit of moveable spines that
encompass the entire shell. This is the skeleton of the sand
dollar, which is related to the starfish and sea urchin. They
live in large numbers in many parts of the world, slightly
buried in the sand in shallow coastal waters, and are
frequently tossed ashore after storms.
Sea horses are marine fish belonging
to the genus Hippocampus and of
the family Syngnathidae. They are
found in temperate and tropical
waters all over the world. Sea horses
are notable for the fact that the male
becomes “pregnant”. The eyes are
highly mobile to watch for predators
and prey without moving its body.

The soft iridescent hues of the Silver Dollar
Collection exemplify the warm colorations of all
the seasons. These freshwater Keishi pearls offer a
myriad of hues. Keishi pearls, also known as seed
pearls, can be as small as a grain of sand and form
accidentally in many cultured freshwater mollusks.
The term Keishi pearl has been widely used since its
original definition “any baroque pearl”.

Starfish
36” Long Necklace
Asteroidea
Particularly among the young,
Starfish are the most popular
creatures when you go tide
pooling! They may well be
the most unusual well-known
creatures. They have no front
or back and can move in any
direction without turning.
Rather than using muscles to
move their hundreds of tiny legs,
starfish use a complex hydraulic
system to move around or cling
to rocks. They can move quite
gracefully across a surface.
